Ok not that i am into underage stuff but why do people consider it wrong if someone that is 18 or a little older has any sexual relation with say a 15 or older teenager? they are capable of making conscience decisions

As I've pointed out on other threads about this, when I was a 15-year-old girl I didn't think it was wrong.

It WOULD be wrong if the older person is in a power position over the younger one, or there is any coercion involved, however subtle it may be.

People are going to do what they want to do when it comes to sex, love, and pleasure. If it is right or wrong, it all depends on the eyes and the opinions of the society we live in. As to what the 18 year-old or older person would have to think about are the legal ramifications. But if the parents are okay with the two having a sexual relationship, and do not see anything wrong, then the couple should continue. But think about this, there is a such thing as someone being too young.

 

I am totally with Kimiko on this one. Ya know every body thinks teen sex is fine if its all teen all the time. As soon as 18 hits it seems that people think men (and its always the man) turn into sex crazed rapists that have no control and will abuse anybody under age. And as you get older they get worse and worse until they are ALL a threat to society and should be on some register whether they have done something or not.

My husband (as of Sat) is over 50. By that standard if he even LOOKS at a young girl he would be put in jail and thats just not right.

Its true what Kimi about power positions. That should never be a factor, especially when a minor is involved, but we believe that many people under the age of 16 or 18 or whatever can make decisions of a sexual nature and if everything is absolutely consensual then the law should have no concerns.

 

If I remember the 1970's accurately, sexual harassment, child abuse, and statutory rape were not fashionably regarded as serious offenses. Now they are. I am glad for the change. Quite a few people have come forward and stated that as minors they were harmed by affairs initiated by adults.

 

ok here's what we do. pass a law making any form of premarital sex illegal.

Fucking is certainly one aspect of sexuality, and again is too simplistic. We dont need loopholes to be a complete person, we need common sense and an acknowledgement of our sexuality at all ages

Ages of consent vary from 11 up to 18 (if not higher), and in some country there simply isn't any such thing as an age of consent, so the question does not even arise.

It's sometimes hard to tell on here.

But some people do seem to think that, just because a law is a law where they happen to live, that it's a law everywhere in the world and absolutely everybody has to abide by their rules. This is - not to put too fine a point on it - utter bollocks.
