Well, since at least one of those websites quoted the Pope, I thought you might consider what it said on the subject. I was under the impression that Catholics consider him a fairly reliable authority figure.

What does it tell you that, after all those years of Catholic School, I know more about your church than you do?

 

To me those sites really only proved that there's a bitchfest going on between Catholicism and other sects of Christianity.

Ergo, the Pope agrees with the statement that "The Catholic Church is the one, holy, apostolic church of Christ..." This means, baller, that you're wrong here. Perhaps you went to a progressive Catholic school. Your Pope isn't of the same mind, and the Pope is your authority figure who is spoken to by God, remember?

 

i'm pretty sure the catholic church considers themselves more true than other churches, even christian ones. the true split is the islam/judaism/christianity triad, however.

as for the bible, it's sort of funny when you realize how much of it was influenced by the greek philosophers.

There's another thread going around about improvements to the XNXX website. I would personally keep religion out of matters of sexuality and in general discussion. There's alot of fun in sorting out your own sexuality and it seems to me that religion always gets in the way.

Eh, I think discussion of it is healthy. Granted it can easily degrade into this type of flaming, but having a dialogue on religion and sexuality can help people figure out who they are. Admittedly though, this discussion probably deserves a thread of its own.

And no, it wasn't. The Bible is a bunch of stories(either designed to teach or to tell of their peoples' history or just for the hell of it), and teachings of Jesus(usually using parables), and prophecies by men.

Sometimes the two are intertwined. Simple as that. Besides... this is a forum. Threads often degenerate; deal with it. Or in other cases, threads i've thought had great merit die out (because there isn't enough flamey goodness, perhaps). The long and short of it is that you can't control what people post in the everyday thread and that people will say what they wish. Conversely, if you wish to have a straightforward discussion about one topic, that's what moderated social groups are for.
