I totally dug him in the eighties. But that is it, I think it is sad for anyone to go at 50 years of age. Bummer.

 

I do not need to show my love for a man that hurt and emotionally left damage on children including probably his own. Was he fucked up yes most likely. Did I like his music no not really because I'm only 20. He was a sick man and I could care less if he is dead or not.

Godspeed MJ. I may have never been a huge fan, but I will give him ample credit for shaping the pop culture during my formative years.

 

Your to young to remember that he was beaten by his father. He lost his childhood as well as others in show biz. What he wanted was for other children to have a better life than he did. He was never convicted of sex crimes. It is clear that those who acused him were out for money.

R.I.P. Mike. You once ruled the world. Only one person can sell out 50 London arenas in 20 mins. You'll be missed tremendously.

 

Keep in mind that without Michael, there wouldn't be the Ushers, Justin Timberlakes, Neyos and sooo many more artists that have become today's superstars from basically emulating Michael's style. I'm sure at 20-something years of age you've danced to at least one or two of said artists songs at a club or two. So many of todays pop stars were heavily influenced by MJ, much more than you realize.

I grew up listening to Michael and the Jacksons and their music is music that will live on, not this commercialized flavour of the week stuff that we get today. Gone are the days when you could buy an lp, listen to it from start to end and love it. Nowadays everything is singles based, let's collaborate with this one or that one, make a shitload of money so I can buy some new grills for teeth, or a new Bentley.

It's sad the state of the music industry today. While I enjoy most current popular music for what it is, there's no soul in it anymore. It's all about how good I look, how much $$ I can make, how many bitches and hoes I can bang, etc etc.
It still bewilders me how an idiot like Paris Hilton is as popular as she is, but again, it just reflects on todays superficial and disposable society.

Granted he had his issues, and I'm by no means condoning what he may or may not have done with those young boys, but the man had more talent than 99% of today's pop stars. Take a few minutes and check out some of his old videos on You Tube. LISTEN to his music, WATCH him dance, and I think that you'll come to appreciate the talent that he was.
