Yeah, I did the same, but I didn't go this far outside the norm. Can you imagine the shit this kid is going to get when he or she starts school?

 

Ever been to a Scandinavian school? You likely wouldn't recognize it - a bit different from our US model. Pop will likely assimilate in a hurry after some initial curiosity

 

I know children can be very cruel sometimes, but when I thought about the kid's school years, I thought "hmm, this one is a bit different. I'm curious. I know, you show me yours and I'll show you mine!" Mystery over!

 

It ain't the mystery, it's the social stigma of having been raised so different. The kid's already in the papers - everybody he or she goes to school with will know, point, and giggle. At the time when he/she is first learning to fit into a larger society, he/she will be pegged as a weird kid from day one.

 

Sure the kid is in the papers - as POP - a pseudonym!!!!

 

I have a suspicion that when the kid gets old, "it" will move to Las Vegas. Maybe even join a porn forum, and start a thread about a mythical, magical, tropical paradise.

 

How about a bet of 17-1/2 years? I'll lay you 20-1 odds that the kid turns out 'normal' after all by the time it is 20. I'll be around to collect - you can PayPal it to me

 

And you really think their neighbors don't know? That people in that town won't figure out who they're referring to? That gossip won't follow that kid as long as he/she lives there? The media is on the scent, and will never let the kid live in peace. When he/she heads to school, some idiot will publish "Exclusive Pictures".

 

That child is going to be picked on everyday at school. Parents are not going to want their kids to play with "Pop". They are setting theier child up for failure. This is truly horrible parenting.
