I don't smoke it, but I'm still for legallizing it. Fewer people to go to jail, more tax revenue, and hemp materials will be available for other uses besides getting high as well.

 

Legalizing it is major talk here in ca. There's news articles every week discusussing legalization and most of the reader responses are very positive.

Ca has had medical marijuana pretty much available to anyone who wants to get it. There are dispensaries all over the state and once you join, it's pretty much like going to a store and choosing which variety/varieties you want. If it never got better than this, I'd still be ecstatic.

Hopefully, you people in other states will become ecstatic also.:excited:

When Richard Nixon resigned in August 8, 1974 several of my left-liberal friends gave a wine, cheese, and marijuana party to celebrate. We got stoned to the gills on a Turkish water pipe, and watched the president we hated on television as he went down in shame and defeat.

Did that ever feel good! The fact that Nixon and most of the fools who supported him and his War in Vietnam disapproved of the use of marijuana made it feel even better. :excited::excited::excited:

 

Hmm... So I'm curious, if marijuana was legalized, how long do ya think it would take to be in 75%-90% of all stores across the country? I'd give it maybe a day within the legalizing of it Also, what type of product is it considered? I mean... is it like say tobacco? Or is it a manufacturing good? Or perhaps a produce like item? Or what? it's such a strangely universal plant... I just don't know what type of store would sell it

Anyways, I'm for legalizing it and taxing it. Also to see the release of non-violent marijuana related crimes dropped. Those alone would probably alleviate at least part of our wonderful debt... >_>

 

It was hemp. (Hemp and Weed are almost the same thing) Hemp is a drug because it does alter body functions when smoked...almost anything can be considered a drug. Hemp was used to make flags, clothes for soldiers (during the Revolutionary War), ropes, sails on sail boats, paper (Bible paper is made from hemp), and was also used for smoking. Our founding fathers NEEDED hemp to win the war believe or not. Thomas Jefferson made a voyage to France to get the best hemp strain for the USA. Also hemp was smoked by our Founding Fathers.
This is off topic, but America was founded on drugs. We got the Brittish addicted to tobacco and hey it`s a drug and it`s legal. Weed isn`t very good for your health and from what i know of it, it`s only good for being a analgesic and anti-depressent drug. In my opinion it tobacco is legal why isn`t weed legal. We`re losing the drug war. It is estimated that only 20% of all the weed in the country is found and destroyed or sent to a weed bank.

 

To hear some advocates of marijuana legalization say it, the drug cures diseases while it promotes creativity, open-mindedness, moral progression, and a closer relationship with God and/or the cosmos. That sounds incredibly foolish, particularly when the public image of a marijuana user is, again, that of a loser who risks arrest and imprisonment so that he or she can artificially invoke an endorphin release.

A much better argument for marijuana legalization, from my vantage point, would go more like this: "It makes some people happy, and it doesn't seem to be any more dangerous than alcohol. Do we really want to go around putting people in prison and destroying their lives over this?"


What are the Hazards of Using Marijuana?
Some of the common discomforts found when using marijuana include dry mouth, swollen eyelids, bloodshot eyes, loss of coordination and an accelerated heart rate.



Short-term Hazards include:

• Difficulty in thinking
• Learning difficulties
• Lack of attention and focus
• Poor driving skills

Long-Term Hazards Include:

• Respiratory problems
• Heightened risk of infections, especially the lungs
• Poor short-term recall
• Inability to shift attention normally
• Inability to understand complex information
• An increased risk of developing lung, head and neck cancers
• Lack of motivation
• Decreased sperm count in men
• Irregular menstruation in women

Wether it is legal or illegal it is a choice you have to make for yourself.

 

I quit smoking over a year ago, but I'm still for it being legal.

However If we look at history we already know what happens when you take away liquor from americans. I myself would join in a heartbeat in riots, if I was told "No beer for you!".

See potheads aren't violent enough. The only ones that are violent are the ones that grow in large amounts.

 

Johnson got the US into Viet Nam. Nixon is credited for pulling us out of Viet Nam. That was one of the better things that he did.

Drug abuse is the reason that marijuana was made illegal in the first place. All the better reasons for keeping cannabis sativa legal, were over-shadowed by the drug abuse issue. I doubt that you can help the effort to legalize marijuana by promoting the recreational use of it.

 

I'm glad someone pointed out the health risks there. My son was warned against smoking by my father (on his hospital bad) and niether he or his brother would ever dream of smoking. However, he did try dope - he ate it rather than smoking it - all without our knowing. He ended up in hospital having a panic attack and didn't know hat was happening to him. He developed a social phobia which meant that for about a month or more he could not get out of the car to go into school, and couldn't even be left at home alone, sometimes needing company just to get to sleep. This all happened in the run up to his GCSE exams, which as you can imagine he did not do very well in - though thank God he did get to take them. Thankfully he recovered, and is all the stronger for it. Dope nowadays is way stronger than when I was his age, and some people just can't handle it...

Having said that, sex is GREAT with a little dope - I can handle it, but in very small doses - the leaves that is, not the resin.

So I'm sitting on the fence here! :excited:
