  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Franklin Roosevelt had the sense to agree with Milton Friedman that, "There's no such thing as a free lunch." More money spent on the military means less money for personal consumption. When the United States entered World War II, taxes were raised, and gasoline was rationed.

When the United States invaded Afghanistan and Iraq in order to start unnecessary wars that have already lasted twice as long as World War II Bush cut taxes and encouraged the American people to go shopping and traveling.

That is the difference between the fiscal responsibility of the Democrats and the fantasy economics of the GOP.

Two more points: when Roosevelt died the U.S. economy was growing; when Bush left office the U.S. economy was dying.

I don't know why I can't stay out of this conversation?

Just a few random brain spasms:

No one remembers FDR fondly. I guess that is because move of the folks that voted for him are dying out of old age. He did manage to win every election. If he had not of died who knows if the concept of term limits would have entered the national debate.

Either way, Roosevelt had a few good thoughts. I stole the freedom from fear and want ideas from him. He liked to hang out by the fireplace and chat about things like that.

Virginia Foxx, bless her heart, was an unknown retired school teacher that filled in the blank to round out an off year election. She tied her platform to Newt Gingrich's pledge to the people. (Remember that one?) At the top of the list was a promise of term limits. It seems encumbent legislators have an unfair advantage over folks just running for the office.

In her second election Virginia was reminded of the articles of the pledge. Her glib reply was, "If the voters of my district want a change, they will say so."

You can say things like that when you are irrelevant to the political process. Her senility is so unbecoming even the GOP has pushed her to the fringe. By her next election I wonder if her own party will toss her in a tarp and bash her with a bag of oranges?

    Now back to term limits.

On the good side, a lame duck has no fear. Sometimes the noble in the heart of man bubbles to the surface when he knows he will not have to side step his detractors in the next election.

On the bad side, a lame duck is an opportunity to pack his pockets full with lobbyist cash.

If there were no term limits, I wonder who the GOP would keep in office for a generation? Regan with or with out Alzhiemers or G.W. Bush with out without any form of rational thought. (I appoligize, it is difficult for me to find any good in the last Bush.)

Despite my better nature, my heart is scarred, tarred and poisioned by the idiots around me. Fatalism is my new world view. Since the initial discovery of my illness I have come to fully understand the thought process of another great figure from history; Doc Holiday, dentist, gambler, gunfighter, and TB victim.

With my new outlook in life I have to wonder; would I rather explain myself to a higher power that I flogged the national debt to start 2 wars of dubious necessity or that the national debt is so busted out because I tried to bring a modicum of health care to a working class of people A group of people that spend their days getting whipped in the eyeballs by anyone that has the power of a purse string.

I had no idea that these forums could be so cathartic.

I am embarrassed to admit this Kimiko.

I stepped into the forums for the porn, but I hang around for the witty banter and delightful conversation.

I've wondered if mere mortals like us Ace would survive to see the morning light after a night with Kimiko. But I would risk that and I'm sure you would to.

I think it would be funny though to know you spent a night with Kimiko and then see your name appear as one of the donors to President Obama's next campaign.

Yeah and then I double up on him all day.;)

Does anyone know what thread we're on? I suppose I could look but what the hell it wouldn't beat what we've got going on here anyway.:excited:

Bingo, right on. The hypocrisy of the current administration is as transparent as crystal.

It's not hypocrisy...it's politics. It's an ugly business, often compared to making sausage. Did anyone think this was just a matter of Obama deciding to do the right thing? If politicians all did the right thing, we'd have a single payer system today. It's the lobbyists that prevent it.

Saying one thing and doing another is hypocrisy. Calling it politics is an attempt to justify the hypocrites actions.

You either are committed to your ideals or you have none. Each time you compromise your position you lose a little more of your idealism. Obama was elected on a clearly idealistic platform. He has almost completely turned away from that platform.

The single payer system that you crave is not the only answer to the problems we face, in fact some of us genuinely think that it would be a horrendous mistake.

Which is a perfect illustration of why politics is an ugly business. We don't all agree, and there are powerful entrenched interests that also do not agree. So if you're going to get something done, it is sometimes necessary to make deals and accept something less than what you consider the best solution.

Do you think Obama can just stand there, articulate his ideals, and legislation will magically pass to enact what he wants?

I'm surprised I have to explain such things to you.

Those are people with good health plans who do not care about those who don't.

BTW, a lot of those people are on Medicare.

Only you feels the need to educate me, I am not seeking your enlightenment.

Just because I feel strongly about the lack of intestinal fortitude of the current administration, does not mean I do not understand politics. There comes a time when politics are very harmful to our country.
