  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

I am still cruising the Internet for knowledge about how many people come to the United States for health care. The assertion that many people come to the United States because treatment is better here is found on many websites, but it is presented as though it is a truism, rather than as something that needs to be measured and documented.

Also, it seems many Americans travel to other countries for health care. It would be interesting to compare the numbers of people who come here, and the number of Americans who go somewhere else.

I quite agree. And I'm willing to bet that those people who are coming to the United States for health care are, on average, wealthy.

You are totally out of touch here.

The largest group of foreigners who avail themselves of the US health care system is illegal aliens.

    http://www.csmonitor.com/2009/1119/p09s01-coop.html

However, some Canadians are worried that if the US goes to socialized medicine, more Canadians will die from heart disease.

The largest group of US citizens who avail themselves of foreign health care are those who seek treatments not approved in the US.

i have recently been diagnosed with a serious and rare disorder. In the last six months I have seen a consultant cardiologist 5 times. A consultant haematologist once. My GP every 2 weeks. A trip to a specialist centre of excellence for a 2 day stay and appointments with another 2 consultant specialists.
I have had bone marrow biopsy - 1
    mri scans - 1
    echo cardio graphs - 3
    angio gram - 1
    sap scan - 1
    blood tests - 30 +
i am due a ct scan
    a 3D scan
i am on 5 different types of medication daily
this will increase this week with a course of chemo lasting 6 months.

All of this covers me till the end of this week I have a series of appointments set for next year already.

How much would all this cost me if the insurance company only pays 80%. I have no idea.
    Why?
because I have access to the National Health Service and I count myself very lucky that I do.
It is not free as a lot of people assume. It is just free at point of contact, apart from prescription charges, opticians and dental.
We pay through taxation and national insurance.

Also the experience for me as been one of complete and utter excellence, not one of the numerous health care proffessionals I have encountered as been less than brilliant at their jobs.

That is the truth about healthcare and why you need it.

    Good luck to you.

If you were in the US, your chances of surviving cancer would be quite a bit higher.

It's not cancer, so don't worry about that.
Also I am attending a world centre for excellence for treatment.

I will not state what it is in a public forum but any of my friends who want to know what it is just pm me.:)

Unless you don't have health coverage, or your insurance company can find some excuse not to cover you.

Wrong again DL, the US has the highest cancer survivor rate of all nations.

    Now back to your delusions.

Sooo...let me see if I've got this straight. You want to cite illegal immigrants from Mexico as proof that the U.S. has the greatest health care system in the world? I can perhaps except the contention that the U.S. health care system is better than Mexico's. Is that what you and other conservatives actually mean when they say that people are coming here in droves to avail themselves of our wonderful health care system? You weren't talking about Canada, or England, or France, or Germany...?

Then why did you change the subject?

And we're still waiting for statistics....how many of them are there, what are their incomes, and what services are they seeking in the U.S.?

Will Socialized Health Care in the US Kill Canadians?

Posted by Marc Vander Maas on Monday, March 3, 2008

More than 400 Canadians in the full throes of a heart attack or other cardiac emergency have been sent to the United States because no hospital can provide the lifesaving care they require here...

…While other provinces have sent patients out of country – British Columbia has sent 75 pregnant women or their babies to Washington State since February, 2007...

At least 188 neurosurgery patients and 421 emergency cardiac patients have been sent to the United States from Ontario since the 2003-2004 fiscal year to Feb. 21 this year. Add to that 25women with high-risk pregnancies sent south of the border in 2007...

    -------

    Correct my arithmetic if you want, tenguy. According to my calculations 40 + 75 + 188 + 25 = 688.

That does not seem like a migration, especially when 45,000 Americans die every year because they do not have health insurance. Also, where are these numbers coming from? The Acton Institute is obviously a right wing ideological website. I am not saying that an organization like that necessarily lies, but it would need to document its numbers by quoting another source. I would trust an agency of the Canadian government, the U.S. government, or the New England Journal of Medicine.

Right, BTW, my wife buys her migraine medication for about 10% of the US cost in Mexico. Fucking Dems, keeping the costs too high.
