If uefa and fifa can do something about him, that would be great, even if its just that the ban stays.

Still money talks, his pockets are very deep and even if he is sick of paying out money all the time on Chelsea, I'm sure a man of his 'character' will see that if he does not fight, it will reflect bad on him, show some weakness on his part.

I'm guessing he will do whatever it takes to get Chelsea either off with this, or at the very least have that ban greatly reduced.

Just thought I'd weigh in with some facts.

£1,863,981,173 (£1.864 billion) - the amount FIFA alone made in 2003-2006 period. Obviously that doesn't include outgoings, but they make a hell of a lot of money just from the World Cup from: mostly the television rights for over 200 countries; hospitality; marketing rights; fines imposed on teams (every yellow card even generates a fine, afterall); sales of every other non live product (DVDs, programmes, match day revenue, etc), all other FIFA tournaments (World Club Championship, Womens World Cup, Qualifying tournaments, U16's, U18's, U20's, U21's, Confederations Cup, African Nations Cup, etc etc), licensing for video games etc.

£1,393,916,032 (£1.394 billion) - the amount FIFA paid out in 2003-2006 period. The majority of expenses were on "contributions to teams" (prize funds, etc).

FIFA profit 2003-2006 - £470 million. Bear in mind though that that is just 2003-2006 profit, which was their highest, and it doesn't include any previous profits and they've been going for a long time. At a guess I'd say FIFA are worth about £2billion and after next years world cup (depending on how bad a job South Africa make of it) they could have an extra billion. Add UEFA in and you've probably got about another billion. Plus add in that FIFA & UEFA own the rights to everything and that adds a considerable amount to their worth because you know TV companies are always going to pay to broadcast their matches.

Still, I think that's more than Abramovich would actually be willing to pay on behalf of Chelsea. He just wouldn't spend 2 or 3 billion of his apparent 11 billion on Chelsea, because he quite frankly doesn't care THAT much!
