totally agree that goal should have been wiped out. i would be far more upset if it hadnt been for the fact that they could have scored more against us and it was definately not a good day for the reds in general.

when a law has been broken and someone is accused video evidence is used to charge the person responsible.

when a player for some other team dives there may be an overturned banning decision allowed as it has happened many times.

when a chelsea player falls over in the box untouched by any liverpool player and they score a goal from a penalty the decision stands!

when a foreign object not only makes focussing on the ball extremely difficult but actually changes the direction of the ball and as a result scores a goal against liverpool and not the opposition it stands!

what the hell is that all about. i think its highly likely that both these decisions being made against man u would have resulted in both goals being removed. its absolutely ludicrous with the video evidence of both these situations to actually not change the games result in retrospect. overturned bans are ultra important to the player involved as well as to the team if that player is integral.
non-goals and loss of points for no good reason is of paramount importance to any team and should NEVER be allowed to stand when a situation is laughably wrong and can be so obviously proved to be so.

get a grip will you officials and decision makers. the powers that be need to get some balls and step in to overule a referee at the time or after the fact as is required by fair play. yeah that goes for man u too by the way. but their influencial cheating must be stamped out also

 

The wind moves balls as well, do you want goals where the ball moves in the wind to be banned? Or if the ball bounces off a bump in the pitch over the goalkeeper? OK, so a balloon on the pitch is different to those but it's tough luck. Liverpool were rubbish, they deserved to lose, and lady luck dealt a cruel blow. If it was a balloon with a Sunderland badge on it then MAYBE it MIGHT be a different story, but it wasn't. It was a Liverpool balloon, so maybe their fan cost them the game as much as the players did. Maybe. At the end of the day if Liverpool had been good enough, or were good enough, to challenge for the title they would have come back and won - it was only the 5th minute!

It's just one of those things - maybe stupid fools who take/buy these balls will think twice before doing so now!

 

everything else is inconsequential. possibly if the players had not been shaken up and put in a catchup position early in the game maybe they would have started free flowing footballing genius for all you or anyone else knows. everything has a consequence. it makes less than no difference it was a liverpool beach ball that came from some silly little kid. if it had been a black cats fan who ran on the pitch and changed the direction of the ball it would have still been the same situation as is covered by the rule that states that this results in a drop ball on the nearest parallel goal line! stop being a twat about it and accept that in real life giving a goal was insane and not bad luck.

bad luck would be bent striking the ball towards goal and a liverpool defender getting in the way and changing the direction of the ball. in this case i wouldnt go as far as to say it was cheating unless the referee may have allowed the goal purely due to confusion and his ability to take advantage of the situation having possibly placed money on bent to score first, or sunderland to score first....

 

oh and FYI the wind (or any weather element) is not a foreign body or unauthorised player and neither is a bump in the field, its the field, its meant to be there and it is authorised to be there prior to kick off!!!! jesus if you are going to pick fights and mock at least make your debunk credible for god sake

 

i wanted sunderland to loose as much as lfc fans wanted to win . the goal should not have been allowed but the bottom line is the mackems were the better team. lfc is not the great power it once was or that goal would have been answered with two or three from the other end.


all the lfc fans are doing is using it as an excuse to hide from the fact that they were not good enough on the night a regular occurrence for Liverpool now

I have since heard that the ref and other officials have been cracked down to the Championship because the actual rule is that the goal shouldn't have stood. But that's their take on it.

And as for everything being consequential, yea, you're right, but a team that wants to win the title won't let an early goal such as that distract them and they'd come back in to it and win the game. It doesn't change the fact that without Torres and Gerrard Liverpool are rubbish, as was again proven by last nights 4th consecutive defeat!

 

I liked him lots too. He never gave up....never backed down.....and was a true pro....

Quite remarkable given all he's been through with regards injury.... and the reconstruction of his face.

Clint Dempsey has improved a great deal whilst at Fulham too....

That beach ball goal should never had stood. The ref has now been suspended, as when a foreign object is thrown onto the pitch the game is meant to be stopped immediatly.
