Haha, that I agree with. I was introduced to football a couple of years ago, watched my first match -- which was a Man U vs Chelsea one -- watched a couple more matches, and decided that I was gonna love Chelsea for a long long long long long time.

Most of my friends are Man U fans and I have to constantly put up with their shit. But it's all good.

 

Thats fair enough but footballs got to be about comunity spirt. Football can lift a town of the ground when a team is doing well. Such as Hull that city has had a huge face lift because of the promotion to the premier.

For me supporting a small team like Tranmere is so much better that supporting one of the big four. Winning the CL, ha! An away win on a rainy tuesday night at a swindon is much better in my eyes.

I'm definitely not a glory hunter although being a Man City fan at the moment it is easy to be mistaken for one.

Saw City beat Newcastle in the League Cup Final 1976 (I was 16) and have never seeen then win anything since.

For excitement the famous comeback against Gillingham in the Div 1 (old Div 3) play-offs has to be the most thrilling game.

Best player I ever saw in City shirt was Colin Bell (yes I was just old enough) after that Georgi Kinkladze the famous Georgian.

He came to Ajax (I live in the Netherlands) but was never the same player.

A few years ago my son asked me who to support and of course my answer was Man City. He disappeared for about 20 minutes and then came back and said they have not won anything for ages. As a seven year old he was a google black belt. So he asked me who play the best football?

What would you have answered in that situation? I said Arsenal and thus my son is an Arsenal fan.

I understand thats difficult, but I would rather my son came home wearing a pink tutu and waving a wand than support Ars£nal, much more socially acceptable.

 

my sons always new that there were better teams than Newcastle I never hid the fact but made the point that they our our team and you have to support them thro thick and thin. I explained that there is no honour or respect from other fans to wards people who just follow winers
I told them that in the CL they should want all the English teams to win but when it comes down to the PL there is only one team

I usually agree with this, Tom, I usually support the UK teams against foreigners.
How do you feel though, about an Arsenal team in CL with no English players on the pitch?
TBO, i find it difficult to support Arse against any foreign team, as they are almost foreigners themselves.

 

dislike that my self but the CL points go to england just would rather the 4 player rule still existed

but to be honest for me its English teams only the attitude of the rest of the UK at the last world cup finished me with them

England first and any team that plays Scotland , Irland or Wales
