Omg the first half, near the end i've never felt so down in my whole life and my bf wanted to turn over, cos he said well you've lost....

I would not let him near the tv, i went to the fridge and got out the ben and jerrys, i was feeling so down...

And then the second half it happened, pure magic...in the form of Steve G and it was all back on, the minute that first goal hit the back of the net i knew we were back in it. I've never cried so much in my life; first with saddness then with happiness. One of the most emotional times of my life.

I was very annoyed to see Liverpool fans leaving thou at half time, yeah your upset but i have NEVER turned over a match or left one early just because it looks like we are going to lose; i stay there and support my team.

EXACTLY! glory hunters leave early! it happens all the time with man u "fans"
they come to enjoy a huge convincing victory and when it doesnt go to plan well they are not happy. not because they care a damn about "their" team only because they wont be seen to be following the winners. pathetic wannabes the lot of them.

if someone is a true follower of their team why wouldnt they stay in the hope their boys fired off goal of the season even if it is only a consolation???

See, I'm reading the above and thinking, 'top man, good supporter.'
Then i get to the last 4 words, and.......oh, dear. Are ppl deliberately trying to piss me off, or what?

liverpool FC has no god-given right to permanently have good times. Teams get what they rightly deserve through investment in youth; spending on pitch/stadium/merchandising; keeping supporters/attracting new fans; luck in the transfer market etc, etc, etc. There are many things that engender success, but NO team has a right to success.

By making that statement you patronise every other team/every other fan. 'Pool may NEVER again have the success of the 70's/80's.
That's the nature of the sport we all love with great passion.

    Take care;)

    Will your sadness never end?
Last season is past history, but while we're talking history, who won the EPL?
Liverpool have only won 1 game in 7 or so; against manure. The question I'd be asking of a team of professionals is: How/why are you able to play your hearts out against manU, yet cant against fulham, or Lyon, or, or, or....Very unprofessional.

Cheats, corporate cockshafters, glory hunters??? You do have the envy/jealosy/hatred thing bad, dont you?
You can beat them with skill, tactics, pride, passion and a lot of heart till the Ayrshires come home, my friend, but u aint NEVER won the EPL.......and it's eating you up.

Take care. (there's always next year;))

Agree whole-heartedly, and the 2nd half, against Italian defenders who were 3-0 up, must count for the best performance/come-back of all time. 'pool were sublime. i dont think any other team in the world coulda pulled that one off.;)

Benitez must shoulder all the blame for that. He wanted Barry and made it obvious he did, and Xabi was going to be the player to make way. Deal fell through, and Alonso played magnificently in the season. The damage was done/relationship was soured.

Dont think he has made a mistake going to Madrid. It's one of the most beautiful cities in europe/has a great climate/football in La LIga isnt as break-neck, AND hes playing with 2 of the 4 best players in the world. No brainer for me.

Arsenal through and through. Started off as glory supporting about 10 years back, but I can safely say I'ma loyal gunner. Stay till the end as much as I can, and love the way we play. Like Townshead said "Surely the second best thing you can want, after not winning trophies, is witnessing beautiful football week in week out" :)

dont try to be too stuck on EPL its like when you pay a small amount of money and go to the regirstry office to have your name changed by deed poll.

never won the EPL is like saying Liverpool have never won the top flight league in English league football you know. And its inherently incorrect of course

I have to agree with JJD, no club has any given right to good times. R1 you dont deserve it anymore than any other club at all "We really do deserve to win!! We go out there and give it our all, we don't just go out and expect to dive and get free kicks left, right and centre" as does every other club, no one wants to lose. As much as you hate United that isnt how they win, they win by being the best allround team. Just like I have to accept that that bunch of gypsys from Woolwich play the best football and when they are playing to their best it is 'the beautiful game'.

I very much doubt my club will repeat the success of the 60's and that Forrest will relive the glory years of winning back to back european competitions. Times move on.

no they dont, they win often when their talent is not enough or they are bettered on the day by being assisted and basically by cheating.

last year Liverpool were the best team overall over the course of the season and this year so far Chelsea are the better team overall. manure have not been an overall better team than a lot of teams for a long time and they seem to be getting worse which just means its getting harder to cheat as its going to get even more obvious

as Liverpool dont actively and blatantly require to falsely win we are currently being seen to be a team on a very bad run. our 6 losses in 7 in the man u version of this run would be no worse than 2 losses in 7 i would expect. beach balls wouldnt count and last 10 mins added time would bring us penalties and edge of the box free kicks galore and we would have in fact been hard pressed not to recover many of these recent defeats

Which is fair enough, EXCEPT every 'pool supporter i know is desperate to win it. Why, if it's just another league title.

Its a league title IN THE MODERN ERA, not 20 years ago, or however long it is since the 'pool won it.

    Still, there's always next year.;)

something you say i agree with here

if they rebrand it to make it even more marketable and call it the
"super goalden premier elevated status league championship of the world"
we will still be gagging to win it!

if they do call it that next year and we win the first one would that mean that Liverpool would be able to snear at manures pathetic little haul of the EPL as it obviously would be the old league and we would have the record wins in the new SGPESLCOTW????

it always amazes me that apparently the EPL and injection of tv money seems to be a starting point in league wins like there wasnt actually a league before it or the league as it was before it was somehow rubbish

ok anybody want to take this on:

    greatest side of the two??

liverpool in the late 70s and 80s OR
    manure in the modern era?

bear in mind that Liverpool won 4 european titles in their era and manure beat an english team amongst their lesser dominance over their longer period (i refer you also back to manures inability to influence results in Europe also)

basically who would win if they were both transposed to the same period in time?

I already know it would be Liverpool and manure still have a helluva lot to do to reach the uk's most decorated club

Thats your view, unfortunatly the league table doesnt show lfc as the best team last year. This may not be the best unt team weve seen but they are still a good team and superior to lfc, especially since rafa had the brain wave of fucking alonso off.
United do what they have to do to win. Against us they got palacious booked early on so they had space to play; just part of the game. In the modern game there are no honest teams or players, their all at it.

why the modern unt? Why not one of their great teams? Busby babes hadnt died and pitch them against your best side, take the unt team in the late 90s or the ars.£nal invincibles.

its not the players you have to worry about with united its the referee's and higher ranking league officials and their proxy betting and brown nosing. besides how do you know palacious was not an order before the game to the referee because fergie cant actually physically pick the opponents team and formation or decided their tactics?

its taken a long time to get this cynical but i think manure are well deserving of any cynicism that is pointed their way.

oh and Liverpool the 2 man team? well we were a different team without Alonso, we are a different team without Mascherano, we are a different team with any combination of Gerrard and Torres or none of the above etc etc i could go on. Reina, Carra, Skirtl, Agger, Johnson......
Now look at manure without annoying little christiano... big big difference. their training now needs to consist of the following:

    (please note fergie)
    1. work on falling down on edge of box, but better inside but need to be little bit more convincing although sometimes referee will be able to call it for us regardless
    2. work on edge of the box free kicks. for this every player will need to take kicks from every angle till they regularly find the postage stamp
    3. work on penalties
    4. we dont have ronaldo but you must all be able to do his job now and actually start working for your pay checks coz its obvious to everyone that we miss him more than we would several of any of the rest of you!
    5. ferdinand i want you to work on being an effective defender and you might want to speed up a little if your positioning and decision making is gonna remain as poor as it is of late
    6. vidic you will be put out on loan to and NFL team as they think you would be a fantastic wide receiver now that you are a liability to us
