He got away with it because there's no video replay.....it's not like football has an abundance of goals each match, so adding another 3, 4 or 5 minutes to a match to view suspect goal/s or red card offences in the box would to me be a logical decision.......but what do i know, my game is aussie football.

Whilst I am in favour of video replays the lines man had a perfect view of the incident, It is his duty to call it and he didnt. Sometimes I think sports, where there is video replays, rely upon to technology to much and officials dont do their job. How often do we see the TMO in rugby when there is no need or the umpire in cricket calling for a replay when really he should have made the call?

 

Tom that is a much more appealing idea, would definitly help raise the profile of the SPL.

In rugby they are usually calling to check the grounding of hte ball when upwards of 3 people are over said ball it usually becomes impossible for any on pitch official to see. Also they look for any other infringement prior to the try if the ref asks for it.

"Was the grounding good"?
"Is there any reason for not giving the try"?

Also i find it doesn't slow the flow of the game down but improves it, but maybe thats because Rugby players respect the ref and very rarely argue with him.

During Saracens V SA on Tuesday there were two tries where grounding wasnt the issue, it was judgement on being in touch. However, on one occaiossions the player touching down was at least half a metre in play. Its not about slowing the game its about the ref having the courage of his convictions and making a call. Refs must only use technology when it is really necessary. Abusing the technology like that will only strengthen the argument of those who dont want it in football.

 

thats true but the PL wants to down size by 4 teams
would hate it to be us that left
but for the teams that did if it ever happened then the SPL offers European foot ball the championship is no ware and perhaps if it was more competitive the would be more money there

if we wher in the SPL now we would be looking at the posibility of European football and not promotion next season
