  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    I agree totally with you.
So many in my family have either health problems or have died due to being smokers.

I would never allow the mother of my child to smoke a cigarette or do anything to harm my child.

Why do people need evidence that passive smoking is bad for your health, surely common sense should come into play? I have no problem with smokers, I just don't stand in the direction the smoke is travelling.

I can't get my mind around the concept of smoking while being pregnanat...
I mean really do u not care about the life growing inside of you?

Plus Im sorry Incky but case an point I hve a family member who is currently sick from second-hand smoke.. she works at a casino and the second-hand smoke actually created issues with her breathing and smelling ablities..Thank goodness we now live in a smoke free state(Illinois) but that dosent change the fact that she still got sick from the second-hand smoking...

I hate this argument, because people always overgeneralize when they talk about it. Tobacco doesn't kill you, its all the other crap that's put in cigarettes that does. Hell actually smoking in itself doesn't kill you, but it makes you more susceptible to cancers and diseases that do kill you. Its like saying oral sex causes throat cancer, it doesn't. People always leave out the middle aspect of the connections. Oral sex can transmit HPV which can cause throat cancer, but the act of oral sex in itself is not the cause. Smoking can inject carcinogenic materials into the body that can cause cancer and kill you, but the act of smoking in itself does not kill you.

Also, if I remember right the death rates in people who smoke cigarettes is much higher than the people who smoke or use tobacco only products (cigars, pipes, dips).

    I hate tobacco!

 I knew it was dangerous and expensive when I started using. I did it because I smoked one cigarette just to see what it was about, and a young woman told me it made me look sexy. I kept on using bedause it is addictive, and I finally quit many years later, nearly destroying my marriage with my bad temper when I gave it up.
:( My big problem with cigarette taxes is that a majority of smokers are poor, and they will spend money they need for food to buy tobacco.I know, because my first wife and one of my my sons and two of my stepdaughters are all nicotine addicts, and they have been nearly evicted when they spent the rent money on tobacco, had to beg food from my son who lives with me, and eat cheap macaroni and cheese as a mainstay of their diets, while spending ever more money on tobacco and its taxes.

You know, smoking will never be completely bammed; the government doesn't want it banned because of the big bucks coming in , the anti smoking lobbyist don't want it banned because they take in billions from the tobacco industry, even the states don't want smoking banned because they can set taxes at any level they desire, and of course the tobacco industry wants people to keep smoking so they make a profit and employ people. Think about it people, the only people who want smoking banned is a percentage of the people who don't smoke and many of them used to.

Yeppers, like 90+% of the doctors in the US, the children of smokers, the relatives of smokers and the survivors of an idiotic habit.

This whole discussion is fraught with misinformation. If every person who smokes quit today, the country would not go bankrupt from a lack of taxes generated from tobacco. The total take from tobacco taxes was $14.9 billion in 2007, out of a total taxes collected of $2.4 trillion or 1/2 of 1%.

The facts are crystal clear that smoking tobacco products is dangerous to your health and to those around you when you smoke. Those who continue to smoke are either in denial or extremely dependent on the effects of smoking and too weak to quit.

The take may have been 14.9 in 2007 but with the increase in taxes over the last year I would say that number is up, to say nothing of the increased state revenue. The only thing that would happen with a tobacco ban is that it would then fall into the hands of organized crime and we would spend billions more fighting that war, hell, we can't stop illegal drugs now. Besides, the medical field would lose patients, why not make it easy, just refuse medical care for tobacco related illness? Then attack people with a weight problem, after all, they are contributing to their health problems. Then we could go after meatatarians since red meat contributes to cancer. Oh, I have left out the largest group, people who breathe unpruified air, they too contribute to their own breathing problems.

I am not a smoker but I could ask the same about alcohol, eating red meat, living in large cities or dive a car.

    One question ...

How do you "see" something that doesn't happen until next year? I'm against cigarettes, but this verbiage is conjectural slander at its finest!

Show me irrefutable proof that someone has died from second hand smoke. How about a death certificate with cause of death listed as second hand smoke.
