    You can now get verified on forum.

    The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

    Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

    That's the wrong kind of Dolphin!

    Dolphin is a term that refers both to the aquatic mammal displayed in the photo, and to a fish that is also known for its spectacular leaps. My understanding is that the Miami football team is named for the fish, rather than the mammal. I was confused also at one time, and objected to a Steelers poster that said, We ain't scared of no fish! It annoyed me because I only knew of the mammalian version, and also because of the double negative.

    A dolphin is a mammal, period.

    A fish that has been called a dolphin-fish is really a Mahi-Mahi (or dorado, rakingo or calitos) it is not the mascot for the Miami Dolphins. The team selected the mammal mainly because of Flipper, the famous TV dolphin at the time of the teams creation.

    Genus Coryphaenus is legitimately called a dolphin. The Hawaiian Name; Mahi-Mahi is baically an attempt by commercial fisheries to make it more attractive. Prior to Flopper, it wasn't necessary to avoid the common name, dolphin. I know the Miami Dolphins were named after the mammal, which is why the slogan, "We ain't scared of no fish!" annoyed me.
