Every man and woman has a different opinion on what "curves" mean.

Also, many people think that a size 14 looks like X, when really it looks like Y. I have always seen slimmer women then me as being some radical size lower....when in reality it has only been one or two sizes (and in some cases, the exact same size).

Different SHAPES make different SIZES look....different!

And I think that's the misconception Lagerfeld has. If someone has boobs, an ass and thighs that are slightly bigger than their calves - then they are fatties that sit at home, have babies and eat chips.

Professional models all have the same (or very similar body shapes) in common - little/no boobs, small ass and tall... if you associate with that for a large proportion of your time - then that becomes your norm.

 

I applaud their decision to use "real women", but the revolution will REALLY happen when they decide not to retouch or photoshop the pictures.

 

Curvey women are sexy, that chic in the pic is just plain fat. Thats not sexy at all

 

A woman can be curvaceous and slender at the same time. Most men prefer women like that.

 

That's the point, though. These women are hired to be coat hangers: they are supposed to be shapeless and tall, letting the clothing speak for itself. In that essence, you don't want anyone with curves or distinguishing features, really.

 

Folks, we have a winner. Anytime I see one of those girls all I can think is "please eat something before you die."

Curves make the woman.

 

the Barbie figure/look can only do so much and go so far. Which is why glamour shows, aka pageants, are ridiculous.

give me a girl with definition, character and curves any day! I also find the Hour-glass look to be fairly overrated.

It is. A curvy woman is one who has a fit body and natural curves, and one who even if she was as skinny as she could possibly be, would still have those curves.

 

I have a friend who is busy starting a company that custom tailors "little black dresses" for hour glass women. Did you know only 8% of the female population is actually hour glassed? It's an incredibly tough figure to shop for, trust me...

 

I know. My wife has that body shape and it is a pisser for her to find clothing that fits in all the right areas. Either is is to baggy in one place or to snug in others. Makes for LONG days at the mall when it comes to shopping.

 

tell her hi for me I *hate* buying jeans because they always gap at the back but are tight through the buns and thighs. Argh!

 

didnt heidi klum say she had a hard time getting work as a model for years early in her career because she wasn't skinny enough?

Yup. Pair those jeans with a tank top that roles up to the bottom of her ribcage because she actually has hips and a slender waist and I get a great shot of her back and tummy. She, on the other hand, spends all day pulling the shirt down and grumbling.


She has an 8 foot by 6 foot walk in closet that is full of cloths that drive he nuts.

 

haha I *wish* I had a closet that big to put all the clothes that drive me nuts!
