  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Bella, I'm heavier than I want to be. It happened when I quit smoking. I'm 6' and 190 pounds. I want to get back to 170. But the truth be told, I gave up one problem for another. It is my fault, plain and simple. No question that some people are just bigger. But how much bigger?

My wife is nearly twice the weight she was when I started dating her, but she was considered skinny, and it was 45 years ago. Her problem is not genetic, but she's working on it, and regardless, she's still my babe. But I want her around for a lot more years.

    Agree wholeheartedly, x_o.
An acquaintance of mine goes on about what he calls the 'ELMAM' diet; Eat Less Move About More.
    It really is that simple.

Burn same calories as you take in = maintain weight.
Burn more calories as you take in = weight loss.
Burn less......well you see where this is going.

    Take care.

Obesity is not a right. It is a disease that cost the whole society dearly. The obese people should respect their body before demonding respect from others.

Nice ot see us not at odds again.

Fat people who maintain they cannot lose weight are in denial.

    Period.

Unless they have a certified medical issue, they are not trying hard enough.

I'm 6'2, and I'm skinny. Like, less than 11st skinny. I can eat anything I like; I'm lucky like that. I know it won't last. But what'll ruin my flat stomach in less than a month is beer. It's happened before - and when it does, what do I do? Lower my calorie intake, ramp up my situps, and it goes away. It's called hard work - something that a lot of obese people seem unfamiliar with.

    [Edit]
The woman mentioned in the article - Kathryn Szrodecki - says she applied to a fitness instructor job. She is a YMCA-qualified fitness instructor.

How is a woman this size a motivational fitness instructor? More importantly - how is she going to lead by example on the 400m run?

She moans about being laughed at. She's an overweight woman going for a job that requires a high level of fitness. These people are delusional.

Well, the you can be overweight and not obese. At 229lbs about 107 kgs, I'm am considered overweight, with only 14% body fat I am only 4% away from a healthy level of body fat, which is necessary for people to have, doubly so in strenuous occupations. Noticeably, my doctor, using an ADA chart, says I should weigh about 180 lbs, but to say I should weigh that little, I'd have to lose some of the muscle mass, that I depend on to do my job. It gets worse every month, as body fat goes down and muscle mass increases, I've got a 38 inch waist, not that big, and 21 inch neck, which is pretty big, I run everyday, and lift weights, so, when you say obese, which is to have an excess amount of body fat, what is an excessive amount?

As to them being discriminated against, well, sorry, sucks to be you, but its something that you can't really make a law to enforce anyways, since with the exception of those who have an inoperable thyroid gland, or other disability, you can easily prevent it. How ever, let it not go unsaid that being underweight is unhealthy as well.

No effort should be made by anybody to make it more socially acceptable to be overweight.

When you tell someone its okay they are fat your a motivator, when you tell someone its okay they do pot your an enabler.

What are talking about when they say "overweight" or "obese" excess of 20% body fat? over 30%?

As I said in my earlier post, you can be healthy and overweight at the same time, I know, it seems a misnomer, how many pro body builders are at their ideal weight for their height?

How many people are physically attacked for being `fat'?!
Could this be proven? What about those whose looks invite attacks, not fat but meeting disapproval from others? I am not `Joe Hollywood'; what about me?
Verbal attacks? Are we not allowed to criticize, harshly too? Not nice, but people are people.

Ah, so there is clarification, I am assuming that is percentage of body fat, and not lbs or kilos. Well then, my body fat is good, but apparently my doctor still thinks I'm fat.

You may not be fat but if your heavy, even if its all mussel you could be putting extra strain on your joints. Probably not a major issue for most but if you have been having other problems your doc may see the connection.

That is very probable, running everday, while healthy in exercise wise, is supposed to be really bad on the knees, especially over a long period of time. Have to save the VA some money somehow...

I am one of the larger members. I believe there are people, reliable, competent people, who are discriminated against because of their size. But I would hate to see this put into law, because that's when things tend to go overboad.

Discrimination - in any form - is wrong. I may be overweight, but I do not miss work, I do not overeat, I exercise, walk a couple miles at lunch, and am certified healthy by my doctor. I do not have heart disease, high blood pressure, or high cholesterol. I take no medications, whatsoever.

While I was in Scotland, and walking everyday with my friend, I asked him if he was surprised that I could keep up with him (he's quite thin and a hiker). He was, and asked me why I was overweight. In my case, it does happen to be genetics.

Just as there are people who take advantage of the government by finding ways to stay home, not work, and still bring in money, I think you would find people taking advantage of a law like this, too.

These are just my thoughts, for what they're worth.

Professional athletes run everyday and plenty of them don't have knee problems, only the ones who either have bad habits or get knee injuries.

You can't put muscle on your frame if you don't keep all of your joints and muscles around them as strong as possible. You should be working out everything, not just certain muscles, and you should be doing it all the way, starting with how you sit, stand, walk, run, and other habits. You should never use your knees or even feet when you walk or run or stand or anything. You should push off with the back of your legs, mainly your calfs. It takes a bit of consciously doing this and having the right habits to get it all to be second nature but it's worth it. Another big thing is to never use muscle groups as compensation when doing something that should be specific to only one muscle or muscle group, and I don't mean only when exercising. For example, start flexing your leg muscles when you sit and make sure you always sit straight up. That way there's no extra added pressure on your back or spine or any of that. Hold your arms up with your forearms, your wrists, and your upper arms, and not just your shoulders. Don't rest any of your limbs on anything instead of holding them up yourself. Basically, you should be able to sit on nothing but thin air just easily as you can a seat or a couch, and you should be able to sleep on a flat board or a floor just as easily as you can a comfy bed, and you should be able to rest your arms against thin air just as easily as you can rest them on an armrest.

Discipline and the right habits is where fitness starts and without it, you can't ever be fully fit or fully healthy.

And don't ever make the mistake of thinking that being skinny means you're healthy or in shape because it doesn't. Being in shape and being healthy means you can run a mile without getting tired, you can do strenuous activity, etc. If you can't do these things, you're not in shape, and by the same token, if somebody isn't skinny it does not mean they aren't in shape. It's all about being healthy and fit, no matter what your shape or size.
