I like the tradition of bowing...it's sort of like curtsying, but I prefer to assume the position. Bowing is also more sanitary and doesn't spread germs like handshaking does.

 

Obviously Obama didn't read the fine print in the bigots handbook....."Thou shall not respect any other nations greeting traditions. Remember you're an American and everyone else has to bow to you".

Will this same carry on going to happen when/if Obama enters a Jewish synogogue and has to put on a Kippah.

Or if he greets a Moari, Hongi: Maori greeting by gently pressing noses and foreheads, symbolises the exchange of breath of life.

OK, when bowing another World Leader an American President should bow the same angle as the other person to not seem weak or "bowing down"

The Obama haters are looking for any justification for the hatred they feel for Obama because he is a black, northern liberal who got elected president.

Well, common sense dictates if the same people hate Clinton and Obama, and both Presidents are Democratic, then the people hate the Democratic party, not the race of the Democratic President.

That is a valid point. However, a major reason most low income whites vote Republican is their antipathy to blacks. If Barack Obama was a white war hero, and everything else he is, the hate for him would be less intense, and less widespread. Clinton took pride in being called, "America's first black president." He has soul.

To varying degrees most of us allow our likes and dislikes to influence our judgment of what is true and false. The birthers allow their hatred of the president to cause them to believe something that is clearly not true about him. Those who say he is a Moslem or a Marxist do the same.

I posted a test on current events. Those who got answers wrong were misinformed. There is a difference between that and insisting on believing something bizarre and rejecting contrary evidence, because the bizarre belief justifies one's hatred.

 

Could it be that most of those low income whites who vote Republican is due to them living in a Republican majority state? I would like to know where are these people you refer to in your response. And then compare where they live to the majority of the state's political affiliation.
