  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

the fact is people are just going to keep on bitching, about politics, music, art ect. Some ppl just have to argue. When I was ten I thought I could change the world and now I know Its hard enough just to change one person's point of view.

It doesn't fucking matter if he bowed, shook hands, curtseyed or fucked the first born son of every male in the Emperor's palace. It is a non news event.

I was just defending the news media for their position on the bow being the wrong thing to do. Sometimes, people do not understand that when something is done, there are reasons behind their actions. I just had to bring the proof to make people understand why the news media are outraged.

No. What you had to do was try to make yourself seem all knowledgeable. How many people really give a shit? It would have been so much worse if he'd greeted the Emperor with a moony. How someone bowed, or even if it was too deep, too shallow, while leaning to either left or right is as important to the world as what I had for dinner.

I for one LOVE that this story is getting so much play. Has Obama not yet figured out that if he does something "questionable" that with the political landscape being what it is today he is going to get criticized?

You have not seen the last of this bow. The Republicans will keep this one around for when they really need it (during the next Presidential campaign), for it will likely help sway a handful of Independent voters away from the Obama camp.

Like it or not, Libs and Euros, most American citizens other than the ultra-lib crowd like to think of their nation as strong and superior in the world of international politics. The "perception" alone will be that this bow was another Obama action that is leading towards the "weakening of America".

Is it probably silly? Yes. Will it ultimate help get Obama out of the White House? Yes, again.

If the voting public of America is as easily swayed to vote for someone just because of that incident, then you really do deserve a shit president.

If anyone actually changes their vote over this then they are an unmitigated idiot, and the Democrats will probably be glad to see them go.

please Norty Dog, tell that to all of the OP's of the next hateful political threads against the right, the fact is the liberals here do not like the fact that they are being marginalized and silenced by conservative members, this thread is as valid as any other on the board...and El Casanova made some good points that I welcome.

If the country itself, where the President visited believes the same thing new media in the US are stating, about how weak it made the President seem, I think it is a valid point.

So Democrats can think that this has been blown out of proportion, and another way for the media to turn against Obama in the US.

But when a news media in the same country where the President visited says that the President doing the bow showed weakness. Then there is a reason for outrage, and debate on the actual bow.

This is not about me being knowledgeable, this is about defending the points of arguments that the news media have shown, so that people understand that it was wrong. And that the bow did make the President to look weak.

And because the President represents the US, it would in turn make the US look weak.

What makes a leader of a country weaker is when they backpeddle on the election promises. If, as a nation, you could berate the president either now or in the future, when he does backpeddle, would it not in the long run make him appear stronger when visiting foreign soil, and he could then be excused such a faux pas as meaningless as the one in question.

I don't like to post on topics that I haven't read all the way through. I'm sure that plenty of people have already said this but, bowing is a form of respect.

My brother has lived in Japan for 7 years, is married to a Japanese woman and recently bought a house. My wife and I had the good luck to visit Japan for 2 weeks and I have to say that the Japanese culture is the most universally polite culture I have ever experienced.

Folks who get upset about our president respecting the culture of another country are wrong. I'm not wavering at all, in Japan, meeting a Japanese leader you fucking respect their culture. It was infinately more embarrasing to me when Bush gave Chancellor Merkle a fucking shoulder rub at the G8. The best part about that is that what he did was totally unacceptable in EVERYONE'S cultural norm.

    Thank you.

Before browsing for porn I had to give you a big cheer for this one. With primary election campaigns starting 2 years before the general we now have presidents who have 2 years in office where they are relatively not distracted from campaigning. Considering any changes made now will take several months to be seen we are castrating the effectiveness of ANY president.

If we get on to a term limits argument I vote for ONE 6 year term for the office of the President. It is a big enough chunk of time to put into place systems and also to see how well they perform. It also makes it so that they are not immediately running for re-election. The last 2 years of most 2 term presidents are classified as lame duck anyway.

There are ALWAYS counterpoints to these ridiculous talking points. You can ALWAYS find evidence that the people criticizing Obama praised Bush (or somebody) for doing the same thing. It's as predictable as the sunrise.

I'm just glad that in this age of the internet and bloggers and videotape, the perpetrators of this crapola almost always get caught. But of course, they blithely start right in on the next one, as if nothing had happened.

Some years ago, a California think tank came up with a new U.S. Constitution that they felt better reflected today's reality. Among its features was one that stipulated a single six-year term for the president. So I guess you have some allies. :)

Oh, come on, everyone knows that a backrub is considered the proper protocol when meeting with the Chancellor of Germany. Not only that, but Bush conveyed by that gesture an impression of American strength that made all those European leaders cower in fear. :)

lame duck, yes Obama is. six years? have fun with that one. I hate to bring this up but i believe Bush Sr had the most embarrassing moment with the Prime Minister of Japan, i will leave it at that. If Mr. Obama wants to apologize and cower all day on the worlds stage maybe he should get off.:) his brand of politics is broken.

    I saw this thread

and wondered who had dug it out of the garbage. Then I reviewed the post times, and saw it was just started yesterday. Wasn't there a similar thread recently when Obama displayed courtesy to a European or Middle Eastern leader?
All right! We have a national tradition of arrogance! The USA is the only country that does not dip its colors to the crowned worlds of Europe. Does that mean our Chief of State, who was brought up to be a gentleman, has to ask like a Reaganite Arsehole, or a totalitarian Prince. I am not aware what his current faux pas is. I just don't give a damn. It is certainly better than the Bush-Reagan stance of arrogance.
