I have several things I particularly want to say to you, so here goes;

Firstly - do keep up the writing. You have a natural talent there, and one that should be developed. Even if you do it purely for your own amusement, don't let that skill atrophy - it would be a sad loss for those of us who enjoy reading such things.

Next, is an honest statement. Obviously, I know little or nothing about you, save what you post on the forum. Yet, whoever you are Onion, and whatever your life may be like, it has made you into a most remarkable person. Time and again, I've read your posts, marvelling at the life experience and breadth of knowledge exhibited on a variety of subjects. Without doubt, you have one of those most interesting minds, I've come across in a long time. And I've talked to an awful lot of people, all over the world.

My final thought; you have an extremely quick, and knowledgeable mind, there is no doubt about that. You also have a lot of life experience, and some of it very different from "normal" people. But be careful - it is very, very easy for someone like you to get frustrated with people who think slower than you, know less than you, and express themselves less well than you. That frustration, ultimately will harm you, more than anyone else. Try not to let the world get under your skin - you're way smarter and wiser than that, anyway!

I just felt there was nothing left for me to do, that I hadn't done already. And I don't do repetition well, for long.

So I'm out to travel the world wild web - and see what other interesting places I can find.

Oddly enough, I'm not nearly as serious out in the world as I come across here. For whatever reason, that side of my personality is not expressed on the forum. Just as I'm relatively sure you don't run up to people you meet on the street with your tongue hanging out and crawl between their legs right before you mount their shins and ruin their expensive italian shoes. At least I'm assuming you don't or they'd lock you up in little doggy prison. Believe it or not, I do have a good sense of humor, albeit a little dry and on the sarcastic side, but here... I dunno, I just don't express it very often. Which can make me appear to be a bore sometimes, I know, but if I was worried about that, I'd have left a long time ago. I think I'm the only regular, long time GD member who has not participated in some kind of flirtatious dirty talk with neither Kimiko or Bella. My loss.

Personal thoughts.

I must admit to being being taken completely by surprise since I posted my original message. In the nicest of all possible ways.

What's surprised me, has been the variety of positive messages from people, in both public and private. People I would never have expected in a hundred years to take the time to leave me a message saying some genuinely touching and sweet things, have done so and put many a smile on my face in the process.

I'd like to say a personal thank you, to every person who took the time to say those words, be they total stranger or well established member. And I know now, I'm choosing exactly the right time to leave - I'm happy, I'm ready to go, and I'm leaving on a real high.

Just a few weeks to go, now... *smiling warmly* Can't wait - it's gonna be fun, whatever I do next!

And for those of you reading this, as I said, if you want to stay in touch after I leave, my PM is open until just after Christmas. If you don't but want to leave a message anyway - go right ahead, I'd love to hear from you, even if we've never spoken before.

In the meantime, I've got a couple of things planned to do around here, before I go. I aim to leave with a bang or two, not a whimper. *grins*

i too have sadly not had the pleasure of getting to know you. I like so many others on here have seen your posts and i must admit your very light wit and funny sense of humour has been really uplifting and a nice change from the normal arguments on the forum.

You bring a certain sparkle to each thread you post in and i always look forward to see what you have got to say. I wish you the very best of luck, in whatever you do and where ever you go and a very safe journey.

I too come bearing chocolicks but also a flask of water should you get thirsty along the way. Really wish i could have gotten to know you and you will be greatly missed. Stay you, for you have shown yourself to be a very wise, careful, kind person.

Dogs are social animals, they do run in packs and follow a pretty strict pecking order in hierarchy. When a dog feels threatened by the pack members or they feel the need to be the Alpha, they frequently leave the pack to attempt to form their own social group.

Or is it that the female of the species, us dogs included, usually organize the social doing of the pack, Binky's influence may be cross species.

What ever the reason, please accept my sincere best wishes for your well being while seeking your new group.

Nope, she was happy I was happy here. But if you can work those aged paws of yours and scroll up to the first message, you'll see why I'm actually leaving. I've actually been feeling this way for at least six months. And fun as it is to run your furry self ragged all over the forum from time to time, even that gets kind of predictable, after awhile.

And I wish you equally sincere best wishes in staying right where you are while sticking with your old group.

Aww, thanks Wolfy - I plan on taking a nice break over Christmas, having some fun, and then seeing what new and interesting places I can turn up in the new year. I'm not sure what I'm seeking yet - something very different from this place, I think... but as this is about the, um... *counts* 12th... no 13th... no... 14th... 15th? Yep, I think 15th... place I've been to, then it's going to be interesting to see where I find that gives me something fresh and new to do. On the bright side, I've recently connected up with some old friends, so that's giving me something to do, while I'm looking..

I most definitely need a change of scene though - 2 years is longer than any other place has held my attention, but at this point, I really do feel like I'm not just flogging a dead horse in terms of things to do that interest me, but digging it up, gluing it back together, and flogging it again!
