How do you know that you can quit if you never smoked?Maybe its your wording.
I am a pot smoker for more than 30 years, to me it is a habit, with many periods of varying length that I have gone without it.
Alcohol was my bane, good riddance!
Crack? A few weekends of experimentation, then done. I did not like the way it made me feel(the aftermath of the next day) as well as some jonesing, the people in this scene were at least as dangerous as the drug.
Just because we have had a problem with some potentially addictive substances, does not mean we are multi-addictional. I am living proof, as well as many other I have known, and do know.
It depends more on the individual as to how things turn out, than statistical studies or even good ones from sociology(soft science) and medicine.

 

I regularly enjoy illegal drugs as much as possible.

E - I took in my younger days for a brief period. got bored.

LSD i've taken on a few, very memorable occasions. that shit will blow your fucking brain out of your skull. i hate being that high.

Opps!! Sorry. This was rather stupid on my part. My personal relationship with Incubus aside, snorting heroine like cocaine is lethal. In other words you will probably kill yourself if you try it. Sorry for what could be fatal misinformation even in jest.

I have read that it is possible to take pure heroin as a pill. Do you know if this is true?

 

For most of the population of humans, it is a mix of personality traits (highly addictive personality vs. not) and what drug they use (pot, e, acid, coke, etc). Depending on that mix, someone could use coke and not get addicted, or even some of the harder drugs like heroine and crack. However, for the most part, most people will get addicted to hard drugs if they try it.

Pot and acid however, from personal experience, are not addictive to me. I can stop smoking pot whenever I wish, and I have little to no desire to ever do acid again. Maybe in a year, but no sooner, and I'd have to trip HARD so I would not want to do it again.

 

Smoke it or inject it.

In my day, which we have established was a long time ago. We smoked heroin (chasing the dragon). Only injected it once which is what persuaded me it had to stop and i went on the Guiness diet, but what a rush.

I'm not sure either medically or illegally. I think Heroin is still banned as medicine in the US. So that would have to mean on the street and no one can tell what's safe out there. Ingesting would be slower and probably less dangerous than snorting or shooting. But you'd still be eating anything from heroin to bleach crystals and everything in between. That's one of the problems with allowing criminals to produce and distribute pharmaceutical.

Good point. Some drugs like LSD and Mushrooms are not only enlightening and a hell of a lot of fun they are self limiting. You can try to take those drugs every day, but you won't really get off after awhile and if you keep trying they will turn on you like rabid dogs and take ALL the fun right the fuck out of it.

I just never saw much of it around here. Back in the 60's-70's one head on collision wiped out the heroin users I knew. And it made a little sweep through here in the late 90's when heroin use jumped up nation wide.

But I also have to admit I was stunned when I found out a speed dealer friend of mine had actually been a heroin addict for all the time I'd known him. Hell I couldn't tell the difference.

 

This is the reason I like the coffeeshop system here in the Netherlands is because you can buy your weed without coming into contact with any other harder drugs. I even pay tax on the weed I buy. You can buy many types from Thai, very mild, to White Widow, very strong. I still prefer the giggle tackle.

Back in the day, if you wanted to buy weed you had to go to a dealer who would offer you speed, heroin, acid, what ever you wanted. At that curious age it was difficult to say no.

The party pills are sort of decriminalized here in the Netherlands otherwise the test centres would not work.

Most of the registered heroin addicts here are now quite old and can lead relatively normal lives, hold down jobs etc. as long as they get their "medication".
