    You can now get verified on forum.

    The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

    Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

    You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

    The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Congrats. I know it isn't easy. If it wasn't for getting drunk the night before a hurricane (not knowing that the next morning I would be sailing through it) I would probably be an alcoholic now. In the Navy, hell, all military, most times there is nothing to do BUT drink. That night I had everything anybody put in front of me. I got carried on to the boat at 5:30 TOTALLY wasted. At 6:30 they woke me up saying we had to get underway. That hangover I had for FOUR STRAIGHT DAYS while we were at sea. I haven't been drunk since October 4th, 1996.

    I still drink Bitch drinks. Pina Colada, Ammaretto Sour, Midori Sour, Parrot Bay any flavor. Sweet shit. But I don't touch anything stroonger than that.

    I did`nt want to start another thread,so I`m bumping this one.

    I have managed to stay drug and alcohol free another year.

    And I must add,after my family Christmas party yesterday I`m glad I don`t drink.

    Things are really good!

    I sometimes wish I didn't drink, but I'm not ready to give up yet. I gave up narcotics, and cigarettes, because I wanted to.

    When/if I finally want to give up booze as well, then I will.

    Congratulations, I am into my third year of none drinking, mine was foisted on me because of illness and not choice, I have this year imbibed 2 beers and a few glasses of mulled wine.

    A personal question, do you find it a struggle or like me did you find it easy to stop?

    That's great news. I am coming up on 25 years sobriety on the Dec. 30th. Why the day before New Year's Eve? It's a long story, but it is a very good thing I'm sober. All I can say, What a Long Strange Trip It's Been.

    I never had the need to drink, I just loved being drunk, I know lots of people want to stop but fail because of the cravings, all I miss is being drunk, no cravings, no sweats or withdrawal, no support needed, admittedly if it wasn't for the health issues I would start drinking again so maybe there is a few cravings but they are easy to control. I just did the math in my head and I have been, or had been, drinking for more of my life than not, roughly 36 years hitting the bottle hard at times. Damn that is a lot of hangovers.

    Congratulations to all of you. I know how hard addiction can be. I gave up smoking after 30 years, 9 1/2 yrs ago. A lot of people I know will sometimes have a smoke when they're out. I know I can't, because I will go right back to it.
