If she opens her yearbook and says, "there's me" that isn't against the law. But if she sends you the pic, it is the same as showing you it in public. It does depend upon local law, and whether you are also 18 or older.

Were the pics nude? Were they sexually suggestive, or showed sexual acts by a minor?
This(the last two in particular) would qualify as illegal in many jurisdictions.

 

Everything boils down to 'age of consent'; if the picture was taken before the age of consent, regardless of the person's age now, the picture will always depict an illegal act. Also, taking pictures or videos of a person over 18yo looking like a person under the age of consent is also illegal, just ask that dumb fuck Maxx Hardcore, that fool is doing five years in prison for just such an offense.

Not that hard a question. There was a porn starlet several years ago (her name escapes me at the moment) who made a couple of movies before she was 18, real popular as I recall. Once word got out she was underage when she made the movies, it became illegal to have them in your possession - even now. She's probably in her late 30's, maybe 40's by now, but the movies are still considered kiddie porn.
