If XN had the same rules as Lit, Lush, SOL, etc. then this site would no longer be the most popular one. If XN suddenly had rules like Lit or Lush or any of a few dozen other erotic story sites out there, then it would lose a huge portion of its stories. Here are a combination of rules that I have come across with other website and do not allow stories that contain:

1. any characters under the age of 18, which most people would like, but for XN that would mean no young theme, no theme involving older males/females with younger males/females, and about 99% of the incest stories would be gone

2. no stories involving beastiality - some sites I have come across will not even allow stories involving werewolves, so no more gothic category or fantasy category or beastiality category

3. no stories involving other-worldly creatures - no fairies, no elves, no aliens, no vampires, no monsters, no ghosts....you get the idea. So for XN, there would be no more themes in the alien category, moster category, fantasm or sci fi categories

4. no stories involving graphic violence or forced sex of any kind - so no more stories in the category of BDSM, authoritarian, body modification, bondage and restriction, cock and ball torture, cruelty, cuckhold, blackmail, dicipline, drug, extreme, fisting, hardcore, horror, humiliation, mind control, murder, necrophilia (the dead can't give consent), rape, reluctance, nonconsensual sex, slavery, snuff, spanking, Stockholm syndrome, any of the 'teen' categories, torture, violence.

Just these common rules among other websites would wipe out roughly 31,376 stories from about 53 categories of XN's story cache. And believe me, writing under those guidelines is NOT easy. There actually is not a single story that I have ever written that would pass all of those guidelines. It's why I write exclusively for XN, and I am not alone in this. XN is as big of a hit as it is because if you have a fetish about it, you can find it here. It's also what sets XN apart from all the other sites on the web. People can go anywhere and read a vanilla sex story, but they come to XN for the variety and spice that it offers.

This website is a business, after all. As anyone can see from the amount of ratings and reads, incest and young is what is paying the bills for the private owners of this website. We may not like it, but until the owners of the website changes their minds, anyone who does not like the rules regarding what stories are allowed always has the option to go to another story site.

As Rich and Ed both said, you start getting rid of one theme in the stories, and pretty soon everyone who has any fetish/theme that they do not like would start screaming to have those stories removed as well. Pretty soon there would be nothing left but a man having missionary sex with his wife.

I would like to point out...this poll is NOT about wether people believe it is right or wrong...but rather it should be allowed.

all I will say on it is that I get pissed off when I see threads like this and people say...its illegal you should turn you self in ect. because this show lack of thought and consideration on the actual laws.

Just searching for a min I found that (though I'm from the E.U) in brazil the legal age of consent is 14 and incest is legal at 16.

My point is laws are not universal....and I voted yes....no that does not make me a molester or a wannabe pedo( and neither does it make writes of ANY stories)... I merely do not judge other peoples tastes as almost everything is legal somewhere and if it is legal somewhere then the only reason to say no is to enforce your ideals on other people...that doesn't sound very good to me...I like to think for myself.

as for what I read/write (yes i do write though as of yet not a sex story..so not here) why is that any of your business...there are quite a few subjects on this site i personally find distasteful but i would defend them to the death....writing such as this, to me, is a form of creation and should be evaluated (or not) first on wether you want to read it (if you don't there is no point leaving a comment) and second on its written merit.

I do like the work of avatrek.....as for my other posts you will see that most, if not all are compliments on the writing style no where do I mention secifically that I like a specific genre above others.....though I get your point...

i'm more interested in a very well written story than a particular tag actually.... though I DO avoid some tags like the plague... simply because they are generally (in my opinon...) badly written and that's why I'll never say what they are...it'd spark a whole new argument

Well, seeing as no underaged people are hurt in the making of them, I don't see why it shouldn't be.

 

I'm saying this, I think it's fine if they're written or read, not on freedom of speech, but because to ban or block a thought due to morality or suspicion is plain and simply stupid.

But if this were a question of morality, yes it's wrong to write/read them. But then again, most everything on this site is morally wrong. Hell, sex in general is morally wrong to quite a number of people globally thanks to the influence of, but not limited to, religion mostly.

Since that's the case, if child themed stories are removed or banned, we should ban anything relating to sex, make it all illegal because someone somewhere will always find some aspect that's morally wrong about anything relating to porn or sex.

 

The age of consent was 14 in all of Canada up until just a year or two ago.

 

According to a map of consent laws in the world (dunno how out of date/accurate it is): Many parts of Mexico are 12 for the consent. The Arabian Peninsula you typically have to be married, but for almost the entire area, there is no age of consent. Other parts of the world age of consent is 20, and others you must be married first...
