Those who find it distasteful don't have to read them. Those who like thinking about kids, wanking off over thinking about kids, like reading stories about them or even like knowing that kids are raped, ARE NOT committing an act of child-abuse and ARE NOT hurting or making kids vulnerable. There is VERY CLEAR distinction between wanting to do something, or liking it, or talking about it, and actually doing it.


My advice is this:

To those who like kids... you should be able to freely think and talk about what you like. For many, simply fantasising and talking about it can be the release you need to either explore and understand yourself better, or to help you avoid actually carrying out the physical act. Just because you think about kids does not necessarily make you a paedophile. That's a medical FACT, not an opinion.


To those who oppose:

Try and understand that getting angry and continually branding people "sick" is mostly incorrect, since Paraphilia (sexualising children) is NOT a mental illness, no matter what you've been led to believe by over-hyped propaganda or misinformation.

Paedophiles (or those who are turned on by young girls/boys) cannot help feeling the way they do, just like you cannot help being attracted to adults.
Bigotry and hate won't help them be something they are not. It cannot be cured. It is not a disease. All you are doing is venting your emotions at them to make yourself feel better. But, really, what good are you doing?

Don't arbitrarily hate what society tells you to hate without, at least, first knowing both sides of the argument.

This is the worst form of justifacation for writing pedo stories. In the scene you mention with the dog; the perpetrator would be hated, reviled and only admired by very sick people.

So to say it is the same as people writing about under age is ridiculous; when the perpetrator is seen as a hero who does the victims a great favour.

Though the comments regarding the dog story would not be saying shoot some more dogs kill all the pups. They would be saying I hope the bastard gets shot himself etc.

That is the massive difference when writing about murder, rape etc, they are not portrayed as heros, but vile dark people who usually come to justice. Or certainly leave the reader hoping they do.

I was making the point that writing about under age sex is far, far removed from writing about murder because of how it wants to portray itself. Reading about murders does not make people want to go out and commit them; because of how murderers are portrayed as detestable.

Yet can anyone honestly say reading about under age sex does not make people want to commit it? Because the offenders are always shown in a good light.

 

underage can be any number from 1 to 16 where i live. and personally i find the 16-18 year old range fine aslong as the other person is under 20 themselves, no problem in my head. where as 30 yr olds getting off to 8-12 year olds is sick in my opinion.

I can say it doesn't make me want to commit it because I can tell the difference between fantasy and real life. While I may have a fantasy about being with a gorgeous teenager who is still naive and learning the world, I will not even approach them because I can roleplay that scenario with my husband. I would be more apt to brutally torture and murder someone than I would be to molest a child.

 

Actually many people have killed people in ways that they have seen in movies or read in books. Whether the would have killed their victim w/o seeing or reading the material is debatable based upon the individual case. However the idea is certainly implemented.

Pedophiles want to commit the terrible acts that are written in stories, it doesn't matter if the stories are written or not. If someone were to decide to commit an offense against a child, I agree it is possible they could emulate something that they read. I do not believe however that reading a story would make a person more likely to commit an act, but maybe how they commit the act.

On a positive note, reading sex stories often leads to an orgasm(s) and after orgasm(s) people generally are less likely to commit any sexual act. This includes pedophiles! So my professional opinion is that the more orgasms pedophiles have, not involving nonfictional children, the better!

I would add that I have never read, or seen, anything that would make me behave in a way that I would consider unethical.

I'd say that they can. IMO the problem is that they feel emotionally and morally outraged by underage sex because that's what society expects them to feel, so they do. However, I find that those people don't realise that banning free thought and free expression is thought-control. Taking us down that road is a very dangerous road indeed. Very dangerous for a host of reasons. Living in that sort of society would be far worse than a police state.

Fiction is open-game (or at least, it should be). Reality must have limits for the safety of others. However, banning freedom of expression (in fictitious form) is mind/thought control.

Liking/fantasising about something is NOT the same as doing it.
