Maybe this will give me enough incentive to get something started back up after a bit of... well, not writer's block, but maybe just laziness. Haven't seemed to have the same incentive since the ratings/comments/read counts have been down.

So I'll see where your paragraph takes me, as I don't plot my stories out. How long do you think they should be? Short-shorts? Short story? Novel?

I sorta like the idea of breaking out of our usual molds, but then again, maybe I'll just use your paragraph as a setting for my existing characters.

Hmmmmm, dilemmas, dilemmas. Wanna offer any further suggestions, e?

Can I rewrite the opening paragraph just slightly?

The three 'she's in quick succession niggle my brain.

 

My original thought was to post to the Sex Stories section of the site, build a thread containing all the links and the poll for voting here in the forum. By voting here, it will only allow one vote, but will also allow commenting from registered members.

If there are other ideas (easier, that make more sense) please, for God's sake, tell me. Other sites have and actual page built for contest entries, but I'm not pushing my luck.

 

The length and genre is up to you. It's your creativity - what you do best.

And BTW, you look good with a little sand on your ass.

 

No rewriting the first paragraph. You may add to it. All we know write now is that "she" is looking at "his" house, at night.

 

Naw, I didn't mean 'change the meaning'. xD Just... tweak the structure? Slightly? It's just my personal preferences on how it flows.

 

You improved the structure and flow of the paragraph, and didn't really change it. But, I did instruct everyone not to change the first paragraph, even though it is not as well written as yours. While I appreciate your changes, I'm afraid that in the name of fairness, the rule will remain the same. Sorry.

 

Hmm... Well I was going to be a little cautious about it with my writers block but damn, that opening is too tempting XD

I know I am not much of a writer but I will give it a shot

 

I also have some issues with the first paragraph; specifically, introducing the first character with a pronoun (in this case, "she") is bad form. But it works for the contest because it helps to keep it vague and full of possibilities. So despite my "this is wrong" alarm going off in my head, I'll abide by the rules.

If it really gets in the way of your muse, you could always rewrite the first paragraph, finish the rest of the story, then copy and paste the original paragraph back in just before you post it.

Sounds like an intriguing challenge, but it might be fun. Some sociology or psychology student might find an interesting case study following this 'dare' to its conclusion.

 

Dang, I was thinking it might be a project for moobie dick, willis88 , but I looked back and he claims he is a philosophy major, not psychology. Ahh, well.

 

What a wonderful idea! You simply are brilliant. What about story length? There wasn't any mention on how long the story should be. I am one of the new but unfortunate authors who has submitted a story but unable to receive feedback due to "server issues". However, I would love to submit my own variation to your theme. Thanks for jolting me out of the winter blues!

This thread should really be a sticky, but we know there's a snowball's chance in hell of admin doing anything.

So I'm bumping it back up to it's rightful place at the top.

 

1. The only MUST is that you use my first paragraph.
2. You choose the genre.
3. You may submit more than one story.
4. You choose the number of characters, their names, their location, etc.
5. The length of the story is up to you.
6. You do not discuss your story with any other writer on this site.
7. On May 1st all stories will be submitted to the Sex Stories section of this site: http://stories.xnxx.com/
8. When your story is validated, you will send me the link to your story so that I can compile them into one thread. That thread will contain a poll for readers to enter one vote. It will also give them an opportunity to leave comments.
9. You will not get mad at me if it takes me a while to figure this out.

Hi ejls, you seem to have covered most bases.

What about a final cut-off date for stories? Or do you mean that the only day for submissions is May 1. If so, this might be placing too much trust in the random nature of story validation on this site.

Possibly you might consider only opening voting after submission closing date to make sure later entries have their chance.

 

Well, I'll ask all of you then. How do you feel about no submissions before Sunday, April 25th? The last day you can submit to the site is on Saturday, May 1st. That leaves one week and we don't risk overwhelming the powers that be.

Voting cannot commence until I receive your links, and put them into the thread. Because this will be done in a poll, you are only allowed one vote, but can comment on any story. Voting can be done anonymously. Commenting is only done on this one thread, so there will be no anonymous comments (no trolls)

I appreciate each issue that's come up. I would like to think we can pull this off, ourselves.

Now does anyone know if vampires have working sperm? Ooppps, sorry. Against the rules for me to ask.
