  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Actually all the Japanese cars in this country are assembled here in the US. Mostly in southern states, and a vehicle is only as good as the components in it. Most of those are manufactured in Mexico or China or some 3rd world country. The sad reality is there is no longer a "good" vehicle to buy virtually all new vehicles are junk and overpriced at that.

I think it's because there are fatalities involved. Most recalls involve non-critical stuff not working correctly. There have been 37 fatalities so far.

In the 1970s they also made a huge big deal out of the Ford Pinto. It's fuel tank would rupture and catch fire in even low speed rear end collisions. That resulted in 27 fatalities.

I'm happy i'm don't have use for a car, i've always drove large 4 wheel drive pickups and since toyota doesn't offer anything that large I guess I got saved from dealing with this recall issue.lol

What a public relations nightmare for all. The Japanese ownership have publicly stated that they were more concerned with market share in the United States than public safety and now it is haunting them. I have always thought of their cars as ok but "toyish" in nature, go figure. ;) the Japanese thankfully do excel in electronics and anime/hentai. :) ... leave horsepower to the Americans please.

At least Toyota has shown backbone and stood in front of the world and acknowledged their mistakes and owned up that greed drove them to fall short on safety, they then apoligized.:)

That would be the last thing that the giants in Detroit and all their worldwide subsidiary companies would ever do. As far as i know GM Australia and Ford Australia have never apoligized for shoddy products and there's been a few. Sure they will recall vehicles but they do it begrudgingly.

This Toyota recall may hurt them for a year or two, however I bet that in 10 years they'll be up there again with the most sold cars and they'll never fall down on safety again as Japanese business people seem to take a slap in the face like this as a personal embarrassment.

Also as far as America being the kings of horsepower I would say they were but not any more. The Germans and italians have taken that crown now...and they've added safety to the mix as well, something that the American muscle car makers could never boast to.

You can praise Toyota magpie, :) their cars are reliable and have good resale value, some of their cars are actually nice. I merely like American models however bad our ownership and management is in Detroit.(give me a corvette, at least a charger) GM or Pontiac is all I have ever driven for my own so I am clearly biased. The Americans make junk for electronics but Americans like safe cars, I know I do..we are not the fastest for sure but maybe the coolest. :excited:

I don't know what marketing consultant thought up that "Moving Forward" slogan, but I would have fired them immediately. I've seen SO many parodies of it....:)

Try a Subaru! The only car that had climbing sales through this whole recession (depression). All wheel drive is standard equipment. My 2000 has over 300,000 klm and doesn't burn a drop of oil. Original exhaust system,
shock absorbers and all front end parts. The 97 I sold when we bought this one has over 500,000 klm and is still going strong.:)

When you sell one vehicle per year, doubling sales is quite easy.

However, my Northern family swears by them.
