To put a different thought into this argument; I have been trying for years without success to find either a DVD or video recording of the programme "Max Boyce meets the Dallas Cowboys..."

This programme was used by Channel 4, in the U.K., as an introduction to their N.F.L. coverage. It was very informative and explained all the differences between American Football and the game of Rugby. Which so many people use as a comparison.

Cosidering that Max Boyce is Welsh and a hardened supporter of rugby, it was refreshening to see an unbiased programme, which followed Max taking part through training camp with the Cowboys. Also interviews and explainations as to WHY the protection is worn, and that players are disciplined if they go out onto the field without full protection.

There was a very informative and straight-talking interview with Dallas head coach Tom Landry. Also the programme showed Max being shown a certain running back play which, if used in the pre-season game, he would be the running back. But as the programme showed Max spent the whole game on the side-line, but in full uniform, when the game had finished Max showed the world which game he truly loved by placing the ball on the 30yrd line (if I remember it right) and kicking it straight through the uprights......

I would very grateful if someone out there could point me in the direction of where I could obtain a copy of this programme....I have contacted the film studios and the producers but as of yet no luck.....

I grew up playing baseball and football. Neither of them really did it for me, football didn't have enough contact and most of my teammates were pussies.

I discovered combat sports, namely kickboxing and submission wrestling and then mma shortly after and have never played or watched anything else since. Just as Americans were born into football, most others were born into futbol.

I just don't see the fascination with it, people are baffled when they hear I don't watch football, not even my own states team. I fall asleep about 2 minutes in if someone talks me into it. Unless it involves two trained combatants striking each other or trying to submit each other I don't allocate my time for it.

 

Wow, you're an ignorant fuck. Do some research, you make americans look bad. American football will HAS NEVER BEEN, ISN'T AND WILL NEVER BE on the level of soccer in anything. Get it through your thick fucking head that it's only popular in the states for a reason. There is a lot more to soccer than you think.
