Bullshit - If only 1% of you thought like that, the rest would have:

- stopped the world trade center attacks before they happened
- caused their governments to make peace with Israel after 1967
- Never allowed the islamic republic of Iran to threaten world peace as it does
- stopped their governments from supporting terrorist organizations
- stopped islamic worship centers in America contributing funds to organizations supporting terror
- emptied the Palestinian "refugee" camps in Jordan and Lebanon 50 years ago, instead of using them to pressure Israel. You know how many Palestinians are allowed to emigrate to Saudi Arabia every year? NONE! The USA, on the other hand, takes in thousands.

Bottom line - The Islamists that aren't actively supporting war against the west are aiding and abetting the cause through silence at the very least. So prove me wrong. If you are a practicing muslim, go to your Imam and ask what your congregation is doing to stop islamic terrorism. Ask what his position is on the 9/11 attacks. Ask him if he supports attacks such as the one at Ft. Hood a short while ago. Ask him if he would report to law enforcement a member of the congregation who was gathering weapons and planning a suicide attack on a US target. Ask him if he puts Sharia ahead of US civil law. Better yet, stand up and publicly ask your whole congregation to come out with a proclamation rejecting islamic terrorism, rejecting the Quran's call for the extermination of the Jews. See what the reaction is. I think you're afraid of the answers, or that asking the question would cause then to worry about your faith. I think you're a hypocrite, covering your eyes because you just don't want to see.

I'm just going to stick my head out of my hiding spot for a sec to tell you guys specifically virginmale762, although there are a few offenders, that the facts you guys are throwing around are for the most part wrong or kinda true type inaccuracies. I study the classics at college but my real passion is military history. It pains me to see people say such horrible inaccurate statements. Just to clarify I am not speaking about all of you.
Now that i've said that ill weigh in on the debate. Most religions are peaceful in teaching, but like all things there is a corrupt group that pervert the word of whatever god you believe in and twist your logic into justifying things like war. In almost every single incident in history where religion is said to be the cause of the conflict it isn't, it's always how the leaders justify their actions to others, but in fact war is always for more reasons then just one. I probably wont be here again for a while but I'd be happy to give examples of all different religions manipulating people to fight. Just some last things i wanna say to some of the slower people out there, very few people actually want war, very few people commit the terrible acts that you people try to attribute to an entire religion, all people can commit these terrible acts regardless of race, religion, sex, etc; it's just a matter of their surrounding influences. One final thought everyone should be entitled to their own opinion from religious ones to political and more but, unless asked it should be kept to oneself this applies to the preacher trying to "save your soul" the man trying to "convert the infidels" or the person who shouts that religion is fake and religious people are stupid, it's all the same just shut the fuck up. The world would be a better place if nobody tried to preach.

On another note to the OP Why is it Muslims always claim to be innocent and none violent but when terrorists strike they say they are doing it in the name of Alah or whaever your gods name is. My youth pastor once told me something a muslim who is trying to be peaceful is a backsliding one.

 

Your youth pastor was a moron. I've dealt with Muslms in the Middle East off and on for over 30 years, and never found them to be anything but friendly and hospitable; I've stayed with them in tents in the desert, and in palaces, and everything in between, eaten with them, met their families, discussed religion and politics and the weather with them, and never, not once, felt threatened by them. Your youth pastor is a bigot, passing along a bigoted stereotype of Muslim people; unfortunately, I am not surprised.

You really should read the Quaran it actually states that the Christians and the Jews have the same God, Allah is one and the same. What you are taught is the opposite of what we are actually taught, I suggest you turn off fox news, pick up the book and read it. Please learn something about a group of people before you make sweeping judgment against them. They don't have a bible that's the Christians holy text they read the Qur'an which is similar to the bible because they are both based of the Tanakh... if you even read a wiki page it would be better then just spending your life in ignorance.
