No problem. It happens to all of us at times. It's a shame that a lot of the time there's nobody to actually discuss/debate a topic, instead only a bunch of children who are all about image, but what can ya do?

Deidre comes from a different world than some of us and that's what she knows is all. Religion/Conservative vs. Liberal ideology/etc is the only thing you'll argue with her about if you simply be yourself and aren't a hypocrite/douche like a lot of the people she doesn't get along with here are. You seem to know what you're talking about though so you'll be fine. It's the people who are so quick to piggyback on what you're saying and attack her that you're most likely going to have problems with. They're the children here.

In other words, if it wasn't about religion or politics, you'd probably get along with her. That's the way the world is now though. It's almost impossible to be friends with people with different ideologies than yours because every problem we currently face divides the entire world, not just the US. You just have to agree to disagree and leave it at that.

I have known muslims for many years, by and large we agree on the single biggest problem between us, sects(extremists) and the fear they generate.

Such extremists have their support(or potential allies) among many here in Canada(as have been spoken by their leaders). Their words of condemnation of things like my cities identify them! They are not really all that invisible when you know what to listen for.
