The other users made an error in judgement or whatever but even after the site is restored you will always remain a small minded grumbling little loveless geek that needs to bash strangers anonymously in porn forums to feel normal. guys its obvious they are having a serious problem with their system seeing that BOTH the stories and video sections of the site now have been down for several days, so we are all gonna have to dig in and hope they fix whatever caused their systems to go down FAST, cuz i wanna read one of my favorite sets of stories called Harry's Ladies

That is how a properly organized buisness model for a real hosting company is. The recovery would cost 0 dollars to the hosting company if everything was set up properly.

That is how much it costs me to do a server transfer of any given server at any give time.

All I was trying to say was that to be a hosting company you should be organized and that to sell hosting space you should have Redundancy, Automated server backups that back up in different key people's houses... etc.

Sure, start up cost was a bitch, but I make a leaving out of it now, and it's actually really profitable.

AND, I wasn't suggesting hat XNXX do anything about it out of pocket OTHER THEN change hosting to someone that's actually reliable... There is plenty of other porn hosting companies out there that do a better job with their internal redundancy, it appears obvious that this particular company does not have it down to a science...

There is no doubt this will be a large commercial loss to xnxx. Visitors who are not members and do not read the forums may think it is finished here. A large drop in site hits is the last thing they need.

 

Well, as someone who didn't pop into the forums until xnxx went down, and only joined up to post in this thread...

When it first happened to me, I figured it was a fluke. Now that it has become obvious that the server is down, I'm hoping it's up by tomorrow night.

I first ran into xnxx most likely within the first months or so of it being up, and found one of the few porn sites with an internal organization of videos beyond what you find at redtube/pornohub/every other 'free' video site out there.

Now, personally, I hope that the admin of xnxx is getting enough money via ads that this loss of service (and revenue) results in them switching to a far superior hosting service. For all that SlayerEmperor is an ass, he is right in that the hosting company has dropped the ball. Now, I don't know how much clickthrough/exposure income this site generates, but if it's enough that the cost of downtime is more than the cost of an upgrade, it makes sense to upgrade to avoid future downtimes.

That being said... It's not the end of the world. It would be nice if the admin(s) showed up, but perhaps they take weekends off too.
