Last night I sat and watched on C-SPAN as the socialist wing of the Democrat party destroyed all pretense of government "of the people, by the people, for the people" and took the first major step towards true socialist, statist government in the history of what (for the moment) is still the most free nation on earth.

I'm sure you lefties are gloating, thinking that it has now been demonstrated how wrong we conservatives are. You have it exactly backwards. The only way you could get this long-sought goal, this incredible redistribution of other people's money, this massive generational theft, was through the most partisan act in US history. Even then, it took the sleaziest of backroom arm-twisting and deal-making, the most naked bribery ever seen in what has become for 76% of the American public a completely untrustworthy institution. Beyond that, you had to hide the true costs by delaying the massive new taxes this will take for several years, hoping the electorate will forget your sins before the bite hits their wallets.

Just remember, payback is a motherfucker. Fortunately for the public, we still have a court system to render judgement on several constitutionally questionable provisions of the law. This is still a republic of states, a number of which have already passed into their own laws a rejection of som parts of the bill. We can still vote to change representation, and you'll see in November that the people don't take kindly to naked theft and rejection of the people's will. Laws made can be repealed by new majorities.

The gauntlet has been thrown. The president and his allies in congress have crossed the Rubicon into hostile territory. The first battle for the soul of freedom has been lost. The war is just beginning.

Have you heard something called the Stupak Amendment? Do you know that using taxpayers' money to fund abortions by government health care is unconstitutional and illegal?

Are you aware if anyone does not want to have health care, they will have to pay a fine?

Explain how car insurance is mandated by the states, but health insurance has to be ran by the government.

Young voters voted for Obama along all party, class, color, and creed lines. More young voters come of age each year, the majority of them supporting the Democrats/liberals/whatever you want to call them. Your party continues to age, and you might have the suburban kids but they are majorly outnumbered by kids from everywhere else.

I've never said health insurance has to be ran by the government and am not a big supporter of my state running anything, utah is a theocracy to an extent. This is a state that you can still openly ask what religion someone is during a job interview and it's not a big deal to deny someone based on them "not having lds values". One belief I will openly express is that church and state should be completely seperate.

I think you completely missed my point. I didn't say or mean to imply in any way that i'm for or against this bill, I don't discuss politics with very many people and even then I just listen most of the time. My point is that people GREATLY overstate the effect of laws that are passed and usually the undertone or outright statement is "such and such party that isn't mine just ruined/ended the country by passing this one single bill" and yet even though this is a common argument, our country is still going.

 

I would venture you say you would fall under the low income/disability exemption.

 

This is just as bad as the ts. The world in general and the government also operates on cycles. In a term or two this cycle will shift as it always has and always will, people will need a scapegoat and the democrats will lose power. A few terms later the same thing will happen. People have to have someone to blame and that will be the person "responsible" (in power).

It's not like that. The "conservatives" had those people brainwashed and kept them living in delusion, letting them live in community-centered realities while ignoring everything outside of it. They fucked up by forcing those people to wake up, see reality, and see that they were basically living a Matrix type of existence. When you take away somebody's ability to live a working class life or the life of a small business owner(especially when you're sucking money from them like a cash-cow), you wake a sleeping giant.

Things don't work in cycles. They might seem that way to people who don't learn enough about the history of the world but in reality, things have never repeated in this country, except among suburbanites and other non-deep shit like that. This country was never united and it was never equal, not even among "white" people.

All of this, all of this shit that has been happening for hundreds of years all over the world and continues to happen is due to the European influence, mainly English, on places it had no right to be. Every other civilization that conquered was actually superior to the peoples it conquered but superior weaponry and having no regard for human life or honor allowed inferior people to impose their will on the world. The people they imposed it on are fighting back, and eventually they will take back what's theirs and right the wrongs that were done to them. It's started happening all over the world.
