Of course you don't want to talk about Social Security or Medicare. Because those programs make pathetic liars out of all of you. You really oppose them with every fiber of your being (unless you're a current beneficiary, of course!)...but you can't say that out loud, because you know they're wildly popular and successful. So you find yourself in the position of supporting programs that already exist, while furiously opposing any new programs that have similar objectives -- namely, helping ordinary people have a better life.

 

Or broadly hammering at "out of control entitlement spending" casually forgetting to mention that cutting that spending would kill Grandma.

 

Quite the stretch there again Kimiko, I have no problem with Medicare or Social Security, those programs work for a certain group of citizens but have been mismanaged by the government with those funds being used for "other purposes", geez what a coincidence again. This healthcare bill that effects every living person in the United States with Washington DC in control of life and death is something the majority in this country will not accept, what don't you understand really? The government has never improved anyones life, only you can do that. This whole scam has been about taking away your freedom of choice when it concerns healthcare and that is unacceptable to the majority in this country. This bill was never about healthcare, keep fooling yourself, not me.

Yes, I was not born then but popular doesn't mean it's good. The Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security is BANKRUPT! And don't tell me about the Civil Rights Act. The Republican party is the party of Lincoln who blocked the expansion of slavery. They are the ones who voted for the Civil Rights Act many times but was struck down by the courts. MLK is a Republican who was investigated by the democrats. So if you want to talk about civil rights, you got no leg to stand on.
