  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Yahoo comments are the equivalent of youtube comments. They help you realize how dumb the average person really is.

Thats very true...but again...you said "average." Thats the majority of the public. The unfortunate problem is that we have made our country far to safe with safety shields and warning labels and eliminating things like lawn darts and riding without a seatbelt or helmet. The result is that dumb people live long enough to breed because we have stunted the natural selection process that is so vital for forward evolution.:)

    LOL! RE:pS: Thanks! :excited:

The XO has nothing to do with it. In the body of H.R. 3962 (the law), Sec 222.(e)(4) abortion is specifically prohibited. I quote extensive passages from the law between pages 2 and 3 of this thread that either explicitly ban abortion or route funding through HHS Appropriations which will always be subject to the Hyde Amendment.

Even if this 2010 legislation explicitly demanded public funding for abortion, the 2014 Hyde Amendment would deny appropriations for it.

I'm mad about the XO because it feeds the red herring.

No, I'll concede the need for tort reform. 3% of all tort claims receive some sort of financial compensation - they just happen to receive a WHOLE LOT OF IT. There's a lot of people out there that get hurt that get absolutely nothing. That doesn't mean I want to surrender my right to jury consideration or have my damages prejudged by the law before I have the opportunity to plead my case fairly in open court.

Nice deflection! :) Completely off-topic - but I'll defend Fannie and Freddie and the CRA ALL DAY LONG. Overwhelmingly, Fannie is the largest underwriter of mortgages in this country, guaranteeing over half of US mortgages. Fannie has the lowest rate of defaults of any underwriter. Despite all the doom and gloom when it went into conservatorship in 2008, Fannie hasn't received a dime of handouts. When the debt limit was raised and the Fed opened low-interest rate loans to Fannie, they've brought in the capital necessary to maintain solvency.

Millions and millions of people responsibly own homes today who otherwise would not because of Fannie and Freddie. This is another example of stupid Nixon era quasi-privatization GSEs like the Post Office who are too over-regulated to compete, but are still required by law to pretend to be a real company. If the government wants to do something; then it should do it. That the housing market collapsed and the guarantor of over half of the market still exists is a testament to the strength of Fannie and Freddie.

Well, the Senate sucks - reconciliation sucks. But once reconciliation passes, a stand-alone bill that passed the House 409-19 is going to the floor of the Senate that will remove the federal anti-trust exemption for health insurance companies.

The same folks that scream, "States Rights", when Medicaid is slightly expanded for the uberpoor are the first to forget "States Rights" when they appeal to the federal government to overrule 50 sets of states' anti-competition laws.

If you want more choices, I'm sure your State Rep "holds court" in a diner somewhere near you one evening every couple weeks. Take a dozen friends with you and you'll probably get his vote. Spend a weekend knocking on your neighbors doors and drop a couple hundred letters from constituents in his lap and he'll probably sponsor the bill.

And Elizabeth Kucinich can do whatever the fuck she wants... :excited::excited::excited::cool:

After the we take back congress in the 2010 election, as a majority of course, we will block funding of this flawed bill, then when we get the presidency with the election of 2012, we will repeal this bill and then legislate ''real'' reform.

It will be a tragic mistake if the republicans, when elected in 2010 as a majority again, act as they did previous to 2006, and as the democrats are now, actually we kind of deserve what happened here, and I'm glad that it happened, now, the people are truly engaged in the political processes and are aware of what can happen if they dont stay engaged. The progressive left will have one hell of a fight on their hands now for at least a full generation if not longer.

Before Social Security, unemployment compensation, Medicare, and similar reforms enacted by the Democrats, most Americans were completely dependent on employers in the private sector of the economy. Being fired could be almost literally a death sentence. Old people without families to support them were desperately poor.

You may think this was a golden era, but most Americans do not. Republican efforts to restore this always fail.

From 2001 to 2006 Republicans with Bush's signature, extended Medicare benefits and spending for education. Those extensions were popular with the voters.

    Here it comes

The fallout from this wonderful bit of social justice begins. Your doctor may just decide he's had enough:

    http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZjY3ZTg2ODNhYTg4ZDUyNjlmNTBmYWI0YmY2YTQ0YTI=

Your company's health insurance expenses will drastically increase. This was planned by the democrats, as a means to make companies that do provide good coverage dump their employees into the public pool, increasing the "need" for the single payer system (read: National Health Service). The complete control of medical care by the government has always been the ultimate goal of this legislation. If you don't agree with that statement you haven't been paying attention:

    http://www.deere.com/en_US/newsroom/2010/releases/corporate/25mar2010_corporaterelease.html

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703312504575141642402986422.html

In the meantime, it will force companies to lay off workers into an already recessional economy, reducing tax revenues further, meaning more borrowing by the Obama administration to feed the gigantic maw of debt they've produced. And don't give me that bullshit about the Bush deficit - Obama has quadrupled it on his own initiative.

Congressmen are going to ridiculous lengths to hide the fact that the Internal Revenue Service (that wonderfully customer-friendly organization) will be the enforcer of the individual mandate:

    http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZGVhYjFkZTY0YTA2Y2JlNWQyMTdmN2RmZTkyYjljNTk=

Like I said at the start of this thread, this is only the beginning of the fight. in a CBS (hardly a right wing propagandist) poll, 89% of Republicans, 66% of independents AND 41% OF DEMOCRATS want the fight against the legislation to continue:

    http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-20001117-503544.html

Finally, as someone else pointed out, Social Security will pay out more than it takes in this year. They're far from broke, but it's another indicator of a continuing economic death spiral.

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/25/business/economy/25social.html?hp

Someone once said that the reason democracy will always fail is that eventually the shiftless figure out that they can vote themselves a free lunch. Enjoy your free lunch, lefties. Your children, and the world, will miss the free country it cost them.

No Ace, I don't believe that anymore. Just listen to prtndr on this thread. Its not that the majority of the people voted for someone else and so majority rules, that's part of being a democracy but all I hear is bitter name calling hysteria from people advocate violence and physical rebellion because they lost a fucking election.

I usually don't bother with your crap, but this one is short so....

Alright - tell me EXACTLY where I have advocated violence or physical rebellion.

    I'm waiting.......

    Still waiting......

    Got it yet?........

You can't. Because I've never said any such thing. You are a liar. I'm not surprised. Playing an unearned victim card is standard leftist tactics. By any means necessary has become your standard. Any measure of lying, cheating, bribery, whatever it takes to gain control over your fellow citizens.

Winning an election puts you in office. It does not automatically grant authorization to do anything you want. How do we make corrections when elected officials go off the rails? We wait for the next election, and vote them out. And that's just what we are organizing to do. Stay tuned.

Here's another one. The Congressional Budget Office projects that the Obama administration's policies, if continued, will bring us to a point in 2020 at which the federal debt will equal 90% of our annual Gross Domestic Product.

    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/mar/26/cbos-2020-vision-debt-will-rise-to-90-of-gdp/

Hope that free lunch is tasty. All it will cost is your country.

Which of course you automatically interpret as a call for the immediate violent overthrow of the national government.

If you weren't so incredibly stupid you might be interesting.

That arguement does not work with me, you now have the far left governing this nation, and the people do not want what they are offering and they are lying about what they do propose as law, if the cry babies on the left cant handle the hot water that they are producing, it is just to bad. I dont condone violence or threats, but I cant speak for everybody in this nation. The dumb fucks in congress are to stupid to see the writing on the walls, as in the polls. It's kind of like with the kids, when you tell them not to do it, they just need to do it , then when the consequences come about, they cry bloody murder.

The people rule this country, not politicians.
