  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

Well, if you can see the problems with the republicans and their support of subsidies, why can't you see the problems with the democrats and their entitlements............you're not a hypocrite are you? .....I see the problems from both of the parties, when government gets involved with the private sector, it ends up being a massive failure, as history shows us.

A subsidy (also known as a subvention) is a form of financial assistance paid to a business or economic sector. Most subsidies are made by the government to producers or distributors in an industry to prevent the decline of that industry (e.g., as a result of continuous unprofitable operations) or an increase in the prices of its products or simply to encourage it to hire more labor (as in the case of a wage subsidy). Examples are subsidies to encourage the sale of exports; subsidies on some foods to keep down the cost of living, especially in urban areas; and subsidies to encourage the expansion of farm production and achieve self-reliance in food production.[1]
Subsidies can be regarded as a form of protectionism or trade barrier by making domestic goods and services artificially competitive against imports. Subsidies may distort markets, and can impose large economic costs.[2] Financial assistance in the form of a subsidy may come from one's government, but the term subsidy may also refer to assistance granted by others, such as individuals or non-governmental institutions, although these would be more commonly described as charity.

It sounds good for the moment, but it lasts too long, it is being abused and needs to be reformed or exhausted.

Actually, history doesn't show us anything of the kind. If anything, history shows us that the private sector must be regulated, or disastrous results follow.

There are important differences between the government helping rich people and people who are not rich. If you need to ask what they are, you will not understand them anyway.

Business subsidies are payoffs in return for campaign contributions. Now that the Supreme Court has ruled against restrictions on corporate campaign financing we can expect quite a few more business subsidies.

Actually, I never planned on asking you what the difference is, you believe in entitlements and I dont, it will be an endless, meaningless debate.

Fortunately, most Americans do believe in entitlements. Ever since Barry Goldwater got his well deserved beating in 1964 Republican politicians have learned that the American commitment to "limited government" is bogus. Even among conservatives there is little real commitment to reducing domestic spending. I have documented that in this thread in my comment #532.

The enduring legacy of Ronald Reagan was to teach Republicans that they can have the government they want without paying for it. This was dishonest and immoral and contributes to the economic mess we are in right now.

    Hey prtndr ........

........ you guys sure seem to be getting off to a bad beginning.

President Obama gained another 3 points in Rasmussen polling over night.

    http://www.rasmussenreports.com/pub...a_administration/obama_approval_index_history

And I know I'm a pissed off American because your phony GOP obstructionists cut off the unemployment extension. And that doesn't affect me but it sure was a kick in the teeth just before Easter and all that compassion, and love, and carrying for the sick and poor bullshit that Jesus supposedly preached.

You know, its kind of like canceling someone's flood insurance during a flood. Oh wait, they did that too.

I love Diamond Jade's sayings. Some are from ancient Chinese thinkers like Confucius and Lao Tse. Some are Chinese folk wisdom, but they are delightful to read.

It just gets worse and worse.....

Remember when Obama promised no one making under $200K would see a tax increase? Wrong..... As I predicted when this debate started, the middle class will be taking the high hard one as Obama spreads the wealth:

    http://thehill.com/blogs/on-the-money/domestic-taxes/91669-healthcare-law-socks-middle-class-with-a-39-billion-tax-increase

And remember how Obamacare was supposed to stop the outrageous increases in medical insurance costs? Wrong.......

    http://www.latimes.com/features/health/la-na-health-premiums13-2010apr13,0,249727,full.story

Whatever happened to that whole transparency thing, where everyone would be fully informed before any vote? Didn't happen. Turns out the process was so cloudy that congress may have voted to eliminate health coverage for themselves and their staff:

    http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/13/us/politics/13health.html

Hope you all enjoy a pig in a poke, because that's what your dear leader gave you. And by the way, you're footing the bill.......

The public option would have done much more to stop the increases in medical insurance costs....but of course, you and your friends were opposed to that.

Still haven't come to grips with that losing thing, have you, ptrndr? :)

    Welcome to your tax increase

Now, this is from the AP, definitely not a right-wing mouthpiece, reporting on figures from the Congressional Budget Office, which doesn't work for Rush Limbaugh. Millions of Americans will have to pay a penalty to the IRS for failure to purchase the required health insurance. Freedom at its best, courtesy of the Obama regime:

    http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_HEALTH_CARE_TAXES?SITE=AP&SECT

But that's just part of it. Here's another AP story, on the general tax increase that's coming our way to pay for the profligacy of the democrat congress:

    http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100421/ap_on_go_co/us_congress_budget

Hope and Change....... what a joke.

That's actually the only aspect of the healthcare reform which really bugs me, personally. As soon as those fuckers started talking about penalties, they completely lost me.
