  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

I'm a centrist but I know quite a few republicans that are quite mistaken about obama. They get their "facts" from chain emails that circulate.

Yes, every now and then somebody mistakenly sends me one of those. It's amazing...some of them have been circulating for years, and have been thoroughly debunked, over and over again. And yet, the recipients believe them unequivocally. They never doubt them, they never fact-check them.

Exactly, it doesn't take but a second to google it. I always google it while i'm talking with people that are telling me about it and send them a link so they can see it, doesn't sink in most of the time. People always try to get me to discuss politics and pick a party so I can bash the other party with them but that's not my style.

I've not only been thinking the same thing for the past few months, I've been proving it, by taking the rhetoric, the right wing noise machine claims, the constant flow of brainwashed propaganda and shown to actually be irrational, illogical, and often impossible.

And stuff like this just confirms the opposition has lost contact with the mother-ship.

It's sort of funny, if you think about it. The leaders of the Republican Party, including the nutcase talk-show hosts, have created this monster, and now they're stuck with all these crazies who won't tolerate any moderate backsliding. The minute someone gets out of line, they turn on him and beat him to a bloody pulp, rhetorically if not physically. So now the leadership won't disavow the teabaggers no matter HOW insane they get.

    Scary New GOP Poll

    by John Avlon

Obama Derangement Syndrome—pathological hatred of the president posing as patriotism—has infected the Republican Party. Here's new data to prove it...

    • 57 percent of Republicans (32 percent overall) believe that Obama is a Muslim
    • 45 percent of Republicans (25 percent overall) agree with the Birthers in their belief that Obama was "not born in the United States and so is not eligible to be president"
    • 38 percent of Republicans (20 percent overall) say that Obama is "doing many of the things that Hitler did"
    • These numbers all come from a brand-new Harris poll, inspired in part by my new book Wingnuts. It demonstrates the cost of the campaign of fear and hate that has been pumped up in the service of hyper-partisanship over the past 15 months. We are playing with dynamite by demonizing our president and dividing the United States in the process. What might be good for ratings is bad for the country.
The poll, which surveyed 2,230 people right at the height of the health-care reform debate, also clearly shows that education is a barrier to extremism. Respondents without a college education are vastly more likely to believe such claims, while Americans with college degrees or better are less easily duped.

Easy now, i'm a pretty devout teabagger. I wouldn't call us insane, my girlfriend doesn't really like it but she puts up with it. :p

On another note, what a horrible fucking name for a political movement. What's next, the blumpkins?

That doesn't surprise me at all, I hate to make generalizations but the first time I heard about the teabaggers the first thing I thought about (after sticking my balls in my gfs mouth) was that i'm sure some of my racist former coworkers/neighbors from texas and georgia are a part of that.

Third of Americans suspect 9-11 government conspiracy

    Thomas Hargrove on Tue, 08/01/2006

More than a third of the American public suspects that federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new Scripps Howard/Ohio University poll.

The national survey of 1,010 adults also found that anger against the federal government is at record levels, with 54 percent saying they "personally are more angry" at the government than they used to be.
Widespread resentment and alienation toward the national government appears to be fueling a growing acceptance of conspiracy theories about the 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon...

Twelve percent suspect the Pentagon was struck by a military cruise missile in 2001 rather than by an airliner captured by terrorists.

    http://www.scrippsnews.com/911poll

    ------

There's a lot of craziness to go around. I imagine that most of those who believe that George W. Bush planned the destruction of the World Trade Center and ordered a cruise missile to hit the Pentagon are Democrats or Greens.

Some on the left might be glad that so many Americans were angry at the government when Bush was president, but that anger segues into libertarianism, rather than anything that can improve American society.

I would suspect that too, I don't get exposed to too many crazy democrats around here, everyone is more or less republican in some form or fashion. Same with all the other states i've lived in.

Would that not be a generalization of all Republicans?

Considering only 24% of Republicans believe it, would it be more accurate to say that Republican extremists believe that he is the antichrist? Or maybe that religious extremists who are Republicans believe Obama is the antichrist? Or maybe conspiracy theorists who are Republicans believe that Obama is the antichrist?

    For example:

So that's only 48% of Jersey Republicans who definitively are not Birthers, and 49% of Dems who are officially not Truthers. Don't you just love our polarized politics?

    http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/...ers-truthers-and-the-anti-christ----oh-my.php

Now that is some crazy things that Democrats believe too. If we are going to be fair.

It's actually true that he was warned beforehand about a possible attack, so that's not entirely untrue. A truther believes that Bush intentionally caused 9/11 (with missiles or whatever).

    That's not "True." LOL

I know lots of people who consider themselves "Truthers" that believe the USFG was aware of 9/11 before 9/11 and consciously chose to do nothing (allegedly, for political gain). Completely anecdotally, I would suggest that more "Truthers" believe the above than believe the "missiles hit the towers" theory.

While still crazy, the "Truthers" aren't nearly as crazy as the "Birthers."

I mean, 9/11 WAS a conspiracy: 20 guys in Germany decided to come to America, learn how to fly, and crash planes into building.
