  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

    StanleyOG.

Interest is great - but she's aware because the health care industry has spent millions and millions in ads on every TV channel and radio station to make her aware.

When your kid gets up and says, "I got mine, fuck the rest of them," I'd hope that you'd, at least, step up and remind her that she's got nothing - it's all yours - to, at least, help direct her perspective as she "shapes her own beliefs."

Teenaged kids don't come up with good "beliefs" on their own. I said the word "faggot" more times in a day when I was 15 than I've said it since I've actually met a gay person.

Great example! I'll betcha dimes to dollars your kid has no idea the bullshit you go through - thru no fault of her own - because she was born with some wierd anomaly in her eyes. As she "shapes her own beliefs", why don't you remind her that she'll never have to worry about her eye anomaly denying her health coverage because of President Obama and Congressional Democrats to add to her growing perspective?

You know when i read your first post I could tell you were proud and surprised and I was happy for you. This forum has become obsessed with the goings on in Washington and the health care fiasco (from whatever POV). There are now so many different threads on this I am getting confused which is which.

Her idealism is great..I and many of my friends had the same growing up. Lets hope she can hang on to it cause this world damn sure becomes a little delusional (fucked up) as we get older.

Good luck on your health problems. bi-polar is tuff to deal with

Eh was just seeing if I could stir things up. Oh well. haha

My true beliefs are that a world government needs to be formed so we can work together as humanity rather than as nations separated by skin color and cultural differences that don't matter at all if bettering the human race is your goal.

They don't because they can't. They can't because the willingness to work hard does not guarantee anything, especially during the deepest recession following the Great Depression, a recession which in turn followed eight years of a Republican administration when the median family income declined.

Your daughter ought to learn that, rather than some right wing cliches that have little to do with the reality of the American free enterprise system. Anyone can have strong opinions. What matters is knowledge and insight.

I agree. The only way to make this one world, one Earth, instead of all of this seperation though, is to get rid of the false unity, show the truth about every country and the people in it and about the world's history, and treat the peoples around the world(even within "melting pot" countries) as the seperate peoples they are(like for example, the Irish or Italians or Polish, etc), and level the playing field worldwide. We have to get rid of the immature ass people who are running things in countries worldwide and empower the actual people of those countries and not the people who represent them, as well as within our own country. We need to give everybody equal opportunities worldwide so that we restore Natural Selection within the human race and so that only the best rise to the top, instead of only the people who had the best opportunities. We need to right the wrongs that have been done in the world, mainly by the better off Europeans and their descendents, and restore power to those who should have it.

It's like building a sports team; if one player is messing things up for the whole team or one weakness is causing everything to be out of whack, it needs to be dealt with and fixed after thorough evaluation.

It could get worse. 35primewoman's husband could lose his job, find that his skills are no longer marketable, that no one wants to train him for anything else, and that even minimum wage laws are hard to get when the unemployment rate is 10%.

Then 35primewoman's family would be unable to make the mortgage payments on their house. When they tried to sell it they would likely find that they owe more on it that it is worth.

Instead of mindlessly mouthing right wing talking points, 35primewoman's daughter should learn that her family is one pink slip from having no home and no savings, just lots of debts. If it does not happen to them, it is happening to millions of other people in this country.

Are you suggesting that she hold on to views that the 'haves' should continue to HAVE and screw the 'have-nots' no matter how hard they work, because the system has been perverted over the last half-century and we should glory in the lack of real opportunity in this country that our society was originally based on?

(Or are you suggesting that she actually become aware of what is going on around her, get a reality check and trade her "idealism" for a healthy dose of ACTIVISM to help get the country back on track to where it is a nation to be proud of because hard work and initiative really DO matter, not what family you were born into?)

And would I have the "right" to not participate in your collective in any way, shape or form and not contribute a single cent to it?

I'm sorry if I seem jerkish, but I just can't walk away from this. There more I think about this, the angrier I get. I'm really sorry.

In light of your daughter's pre-existing condition; Under threats of death and with proven property damage (by domestic terrorists who probably share your daughter's opinion regarding this issue), President Obama and congressional Democrats may have just saved your daughter's fortune and/or her life twenty years down the road by "ramming" health care reform through on a straight party line vote. If I were you, I'd be on my hands and knees kissing the feet of Democrats and pledging eternal fidelity to the donkey.

Only if you live outside of the jurisdiction of the United States. I wish there was a big island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean where we could ship all the libertarians. Then we should dump a large number of hardened criminals over there. They don't like the government either.

No. That's what some conservatives don't seem to get these days. You LOST the last election. So now you're all "waaah, I'm going to take my ball and go home, my state should secede, blah, blah, blah..."

Let me give you a nice, basic, simple example. Let's say you live in a little village of 100 people. You all get together, have a town meeting, and decide you're going to form a school district, build a school, and tax yourselves to provide free education to your children. You have a vote, and it's 60-40 in favor of the proposal. That means there are 40 people, many of them probably without children, who are now forced to pay for the education of other people's children.

Me, I don't have a problem with that...because I think the village is a better place to live in because it has a good school.

Australia has universal health care. I consider Western Europe and the British Commonwealth as the civilized world that the United States should emulate. When we Americans want to learn how to do something right, we should see how it is done there.

It's not about your personal opinion concerning the validity of the policy, either.

If 60 people got together and voted that everyone had to shell out for a public titty bar - it's just as valid. It's majoritarian democracy.

If you don't like it - then you don't like majoritarian representative democracy. And you've got a lot bigger problem than "the health care bill sucks."

Your attitude reminds me of an attitude that was popular during the War in Vietnam, when the United States may have been even more polarized than it is now. The slogan was, "America, love it or leave it."

If you want to pay lower taxes than you pay in the United States you will probably have to move to a third world country. There you will find dirt roads, dangerous drinking water, a crime rate that is even higher than the U.S. crime rate, and law enforcement officials who take bribes because they are not paid adequately.

But you'd be surprised how many people I've had to give that elementary civics lesson to...*brushing the chalk off my sleeve*
