New Mexico, Arizona and California were sparsely populated and Mexicans were not driven out of there either. Those that were already there were more loyal to California and America than Mexico. I have no loyalty to Mexico. I do not get al teary eyed and long to live in the home country because I was born here and I am first and foremost American before I am anything. Sure, I hold on to some cultural things, the language, food and what not. But would I defend Mexico against anything from the US? No. I am an American and would if it came to it, I would proudly fight against Mexico from the word go. There is not one single instance where I could see myself fight on the side of Mexico against the US.

I am American before I am Apache also. The most I can find say about being Apache is that is quaint. I do not see that America lost anything by expanding westward. A hunter gather society was conquered by an industrial society. It is not like all the Native American tribes were living in harmony. They had been warring between themselves for centuries.
