  2. Hello,

You can now get verified on forum.

The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

I need to be able to recognize you in that picture. You need to have some pictures of your self in your gallery so I can compare that picture.

Please note that verification is completely optional and it won't give you any extra features or access. You will have a check mark (as I have now, if you want to look) and verification will only mean that you are who you say you are.

You may not use a fake pictures for verification. If you try to verify your account with a fake picture or someone else picture, or just spam me with fake pictures, you will get Banned!

The pictures that you will send me for verification won't be public

    Best regards,

I'm glad you put this up Krissy because the battle to legalize marijuana is getting more contradictory and confusing then the Middle East.

Here was one huge development. I can't find the link right now but one government agency came our with a statement that marijuana has been shown to shrink cancerous tumors. The statement only lasted 11 days before the reference to shrinking tumors was taken out.

Then at the same time there's a congressman trying to introduce a bill that would legalize marijuana. Is there any wonder why I'm a democrat?

Also there are counter stories circulating about how much money medical marijuana has injected into our economy, and what a good move it had been. So naturally the anti-marijuana folks are spreading stories that people get medical marijuana cards to they can sell pot to kids.

Now the reason I even bring this up is because of the volatility the debate has reached and I see that as a real opportunity to actually legalize marijuana or at the very least make the government admit that marijuana does have medical benefits far beyond what they are willing to admit, which would make medical marijuana more widely available.

Those of us that support legalization should be talking to our representatives in congress right now while there is some momentum in our favor.

This is what you're referring to.

    http://www.tokeofthetown.com/2011/03/worth_repeating_you_cant_censor_cannabis_cancer_tr.php

Well yes there is wonder why you're a democrat if you support legal marijuana. When Prop 19 ( marijuana legalization) in California was voted last Nov., our Democrats came out against it. Almost every one of them recommended voting NO on Prop 19. If any party supports legalizing weed, it is the Libertarians
    .
Obama has kept the same DEA chief and people in authority as Bush had. He was against Prop 19 and sent his drug czar out to Ca to scare the people out of voting for it. It worked.

You can't count on lawmakers to do the right thing. They don't have the balls. They're too worried about falling off of the money train and losing an election. The people will have to do it themselves one state at a time. If your state has ballot intiatives, work to get it on the ballot and let the people vote on it. It's the only way.

We may not agree on everything from here on out but thank you very much for this. I had a source, but couldn't find it again, but it did not have the exact evidence that your source does.

    Thanks for that.

OK we're not only going to have to agree on this I have even at this late date answered my complete WTF???? reaction to how prop 19 was defeated and who helped that.

I still do not understand that unless they could see the idea it would make California appear too liberal. But that could be my own insanity.
    .
This I was not surprised at and think that not appearing soft on drugs or being in favor of legalizing marijuana has been an absolutely essential political strategy long before he ran for office and one of the reasons for his books.

There was no doubt he used drugs at one point in his life and that as it always does becomes a campaign issue and "I smoked it but didn't inhale" had already been used. So instead he explains his weakness at the time and comes out of the experience as even stronger anti drug use.

That's one vulnerability and of course there's also the underlying (barely) stigma attached to blacks and drug use. That's another stereotype he cannot afford to appear to endorse.

On the other hand he did seriously curtailed federal enforcement of marijuana laws against Medical Marijuana providers and the DEA had a whole eradication program planned and functioning as Bush was leaving office. And that was also started in California.

I never do. In fact everybody tends to gravitate towards the middle no matter how extreme and while there are several different factions all the factions really have getting re-elected in common.

I see our government(s) as one massive glacier, with no steering wheel, rudder, gears, and no reverse. There is no way to steer it all we can is try to push it from one side to the other to influence its course and we always push to hard and go to far and get people ground up in it all the time.

But here's the real problem I see with this. Got a better idea? Can we look around and see some country now or even in history that had a better form of government(s). I can't.

But one thing I'm seeing is the money train has jumped the tracks for a lot of states and soon to be Ex-politician. And in the meantime while they wring there hands and cry where will we get this money? There's more and more of us pointing at Marijuana and saying right here's a big chunk of it.

Ok here's another statement I absolutely agree with and have actually seen in action ever since states started approving Medical Marijuana. And I'd sure like to see my state go that way.

But maybe its a matter of perspective here. The first time I smoked marijuana, use and/or possession was a felony punishable with three years in prison and the first guys I saw charged and convicted with it sat every day of those three years.

Then a few years later you could drive by just any city park in this nation and see groups of 20 or more kids sitting right out in broad daylight openly smoking pot with the cops driving by looking the other way.

We were all sure it was going to be legal back then and then beginning in the 1980's and Reagan's war on drugs it suddenly got more draconian than ever for marijuana smokers and is one of the reasons we now have more people in prison than any nation on earth.

So after experiencing that, being able to prove that allowing people to use medical marijuana is a good thing not a bad thing, and even one congressman willing to stand up and say legalize it is very encouraging to me.

Because I was also standing there, with my dick literally in my hand and a stranger looking at it, when presidents Reagan and George HW Bush turned American industry into a national police force, turned the US into a police state, and changed our most fundamental legal concept that a person is innocent until proven guilty to making nearly every American citizen presumed guilty until they prove themselves innocent.

That's makes these days much brighter and hopeful to me no matter the political system we have to deal with it.
