I'm guessing by clerical you mean basic things like paperwork, little details, etc? Shouldn't that just be a given that you do it thoroughly so that you can do your actual job, which I assume is to be a salesman? Or are you in marketing or something? Either way, your clerical work(if clerical work is what I was referring to) is something that you simply do efficiently. Focusing on it instead of the reason you even do clerical work is pretty counter-productive.

 

Reminds me I just saw complaints in the military that instead of actually doing their job, commanding a platoon, they are required to spend their time and excessive time on Power Point charts and presentations.

 

clerical as in daily administrative duties.

marketing means i have to go out there and have face to face contacts with our clients and get new clients interested in partnerships. it takes me away from the office and more on the road. but the office manager is on my ass asking me to do more admin stuff for her, then the GM is on my ass asking me for marketing updates.
