I can walk into a store and buy a bottle of whiskey but not some natural weed, makes no sense if you think about it.
Its a very good pain killer, lot better than taking meds that kill your liver.

How can you make a naturally occuring plant material illegal?

It pretty much is legal in ca. I have a card that states I need it for medicinal purpose. It's pretty easy to get.

 

Absolutely legalize! The economical and environmental benefits would be astounding!!!

No doubt legalize. I always think though how can we even call a lot of what we smoke today natural.

 

It blows my mind that in the 21st century weed is STILL illegal.
IMHO it's laws like this, that are completely out of step with reality, that foster a disrespect for the law in general.

This, right here, the the real reason why we must legalize it.
Especially for those who are busted. Once you get busted, there's no real reason to continue to avoid the law at all costs, anyway... it's counter productive.

 

I say legalize it and tax it. Just recently the bill to ban imitation cannabis (K2) just passed in my state. It was legal to have K2 but now... nope! (I don't smoke, I would try it if it were legal)

If you showed up at work drunk, today, you would likely be fired (if there isn't a rehab program, or something). What makes you think that marijuana would be treated any different? Just think for a second...

The funniest thing about opponents of pot is them saying that if legal, then people will be stoned all the time.

Alcohol is legal BUT we can not be drunk at work, behind the wheel of a vehicle, or in public.

Tobacco is legal BUT in many places smoking is not allowed.

Just as we can not have teachers smoking cigs and drinking booze at work around the kids, the same rules and laws can be applied to weed. Punish the offenders, tax the product, and have laws. It's called common sense.

 

It should've never been illegal in the first place but you don't get to just pretend that you didn't criminalize it and that there aren't tons of problems because of that. There's no way to wipe the slate clean and it's not a video game that you get to start over and everything becomes magically better. If you think that legalizing weed in the areas outside of the West Coast will dramatically change anything for the better then you're delusional. The problem is the need to sell and/or smoke, not the drug itself.

I saw on the news awhile ago that PA cops won't arrest you for having up to a certain amount on you anymore though so that's good. The only problem with that is that dealers could wise up and start following those laws.
