Smoking anything causes smoke and everything else from that thing that you are burning to go both into your lungs and out into the air, the same way burning anything does. You then throw that thing out either in an ashtray, on the ground, wherever but it still ends up in the same place, polluting the Earth.

If you use a bong, that doesn't happen. You inhale the majority of the smoke and there is little to no visible smoke coming from the other end. On top of that, you don't use a bong once and then throw it away.

 

No more than firing up the charcoal and cooking a steak on your grill.

True but your pipe is basically the same as smoking it from a joint.

Decomposing isn't necessarily good if the chemicals are harmful to the environment, not to mention the fact that you're killing the enivronment along the way. Cigarettes are VERY bad for the environment because they contain the same things that leak from bombs and nuclear plants, among other things.

Being organic is extremely important so it's good that you try to be as organic as possible.

Yeah, but the thing is that you're killing the enivornment twice: first when you put those chemicals into the air and then when you put the thing that those chemicals came from in the first place into the ground. It's like driving a car and then putting the engine on the ground after. What we need to do is start manufacturing and using electricity in ways that doesn't harm the environment or harms it the least, and do the same with everything we do. We need to reverse everything we've done to the Earth as much as possible and then make sure things stay that way. If we don't, we will not survive, and it's kind of ridiculous for the human race to die out and for our planet to die because of our selfish wants and our being inconsiderate of everything we affect.

They called the movie "An Incovenient Truth" for a reason. Most people would rather put their heads in the sand and pretend that they're not doing anything wrong or that there will be no consequences than face the truth or god forbid admit any accountability. There are enough things that can naturally kill us off without adding to it though.

 

Ain't that the damn truth! I personally do all I can to keep my carbon footprint as small as possible, and I teach my kids to do the same. People don't like to take it seriously, and shit's gonna hit the fan!! Don't say I didn't warn ya, folks!!

 

Keep in mind that easily half of the criticism of An Inconvenient Truth comes from the fact that... well, it's from Al Gore. Who drove his caravan of 10 hummers, and 3 private learjets, all over the fucking place in order to make it.

Anyway, quit talking about it, and do something. Like... take a chemistry class, or something.

 

I'm still figuring out how to do all of that. I plan to get an electric car or at least a hybrid when I've got the finances to do so but that won't be for a few years. I plan to buy a plate, a bowl, a cup, and a set of silverware for myself so that I stop using paper/plastic, within the year. Still, there's water, electricity, clothing, and a lot of other things that there have to be more efficient, more environmentally friendly ways to use.

What annoys me is the fact that "being green" is now the new thing to do, and the fact that very few people actually live green. People think that turning off lights is being green when they smoke or litter or drive cars that release harmful pollutants into the air. People treat it like a culture when it's supposed to simply be something you do, not something you do for your own image.

 

Some people do it because at the moment it is the "In" thing! While they await the next "In" thing!

 

OMG i KNOW!!! I wanna smack the shit outta people who try to be green because it's "cool." Just remember that every little bit you do helps and do as much as you can. My kids and I pick up trash, we recycle EVERYTHING, I try as hard as I can to not buy items that come individually wrapped, I cloth diaper (and I sew my own clothies out of recycled materials. Less for the landfills), I eat very little meat... I would LOVE to get a hybrid, but, like you, baller, my bank statement says No Hybrid for Me. LOL. Another big thing people can do to help (and this is an environmental crime that I am very guilty of) is try to reproduce less. Urban sprawl is a huge epidemic and it's not like the Earth is gonna make any more land for us. Anyway yes I totally agree with this statement. Environmentalism is NOT "cool".. it's just RIGHT!

 

I think all drugs should be legalized. The government should deal with drug dependence as a medical problem, not a legal problem. It should have drugs on the market the way it has alcohol on the market, with a stiff tax, but low cost. End of the illegal drug trade, end of arresting people who should be on the streets, end of government stupidity.

That's very good of you. You're doing a lot more than the majority of people do. Personally, I don't think reproduction is the problem so much as the way we live. If people lived with nature instead of trying to conquer it, there really wouldn't be any problems. It's about compromise, which we haven't done since the Native Americans were wiped out and the Indians-as in people from India, Irish, and Africans for starters, were "civilized" by Europeans.
