I have definitely noticed more and more cameras everywhere I go anymore. In my neighborhood, on my way to work, the neighborhood around my work, especially around traffic signals I think law enforcement thinks we need to be like London maybe? Lazy more or less, you can always eat more doughnuts while you pay someone eight dollars an hour to look at multiple monitors for law breakers of any kind, the future is not going to be nice. peace + ;-)

 

Saw on the news a month or so ago,a cop was directing traffic at a intersection,a car made a left hand turn on a red light under the officers direction, so some time later this man gets a ticket in the mail.Turns out the man was a judge for that town and handled the traffic division of the court, talk about being ironic/Master Chief

 

I was watching a program where they were talking about the cameras in London... part of me (the rebellious side) was against it... the the logical side (paranoid side) was all for it.

 

And we get silly people trying to justify their actions by making silly playground excuses such as 'everyone else is doing it' or 'they're just doing it to increase revenue'. Ever work a wreck where some stupid SOB ran a light and hit a car full of innocent people? I have, I sent 5 people to the morgue one night, all members of one family out on Christmas Eve, because some jackass was in a hurry and didn't stop. Cry all you want about it, make all the wah wah noises you want, your argument isn't going to change my mind - if you're not willing to pay the penalty, don't go speeding and running red lights and endangering the rest of us.

I'm not old enough to remember, but I'm going to hazard a guess running a red was illegal in the 80s.

In England, it costs nothing at all to contest a wrongful decision. The $2,000 fine is only payable if you contest a correct decision.

people around here had been running the last of the yellow light for so long when the cameras started going up we had a ton of rear end collisions...

Cameras dont bother me but it is for revenue and that is the main reason...

What pisses me off when the cop jumps out from behind a tree with a radar gun and I have 3 cars beside and around me going the same speed as me but I get pulled over...thats when I see the attorney...freaking speed traps...

btw I have had 2 tickets in 15 years...dont ask me about before that LOL

I could care less what some 'bastion of liberal thought' proclaims as truth; I know I've seen enough wrecks and enough people injured, maimed and killed over the years to completely dismiss your wah wah whining ass arguments. The solution, as I said, is simple: obey the law. If everyone did that, there would have been no need for red light cameras and speed traps to begin with.

I agree with you on your earlier point that cameras do not lie and more responsibility and caring about everyone else on the road is what is important. I had the same reaction about London, it seems the only place you truly have privacy anymore is in your own home and who knows how long that will last...
