I was comparing the CeeJay1's idea of building a church in Mecca to building a mosque in Vatican City. It is just not going to happen.

 

First off, I doubt you majored in theology, so you are not exactly a religious expert which can define a religion to be BS.

Second of all, Islam recognized both Christianity and Judaism. Yet Christianity nor Judaism recognized Islam. Do you see the problem there?

Okay, let me break down the religious significance of this place.

Islam: the rock in which Muhammad ascended into Heaven

Judaism: the stone in which Abraham prepared to sacrifice his son Isaac


The only holy Christian ground that would come close to the Dome of the Rock for Christians, would be the Chapel of the Ascension in Jerusalem, where it is believed that Jesus ascended into Heaven.

The kicker is this though, there is also a Mosque there, because the Muslims believe that Jesus ascended into Heaven as well.
