Fuck reform. We have a border that needs to be secured and laws to prosecute employers who hire illegal aliens. Lets see a little federal action! And then judge if reform is needed. We can theorize all day long what would be best for our country, but when our federal gov't refuses to execute laws, what is the point?

That's why i find it annoying to hear obama act passionate about it. I'll pick on any president who gets us deeper in debt and fails to slow illegal immigration. Obama and Holder are spending more resources detering Ariz than they are on securing our borders. That has a hypocritical taste, in a way. I mean, with five other lawsuits pending, why waste the time? Why not use Justice for something more productive, like finding one illegal alien that's not a smokin' hot russian spy?

Arguing religion or politics is a useless thing, but here I go with my personal view, anyway:

All politicians suck, regardless of party, policy, action, or inaction. Politicians don't get drawn to their offices out of the goodness of their hearts to make the country or the world a better place, or to help people. They do it for the attention, the power, and to make a name for themselves and their egos.

When you get down to it, too, blaming this or that in the economy or other places on a particular politician is a gross oversimplification of how the world works. Economic forces and trends happen mostly independently from what a President or other elected official does or doesn't do; propositions are passed by voters every year and then struck down by this or that court, making what the public wants irrelevant; big businesses' lobbying and payolas influence what happens in your daily life more than what politicians do. ConAgra, Monsanto, Wal-Mart, and Dow Chemical are examples of bodies that likely make a much more direct and immediate impact on how things work in the USA and globally, and in your day to day life, than whomever is in the President's office or what party holds the majority of Senate seats.

I've said it before here. Neither major party wants any part of a crackdown on employers who hire illegal immigrants. Neither wants any part of a national ID card. Neither wants to curtail benefits that act as a magnet for illegal immigrants.

And why? Because Republicans want cheap labor that's too scared to join a union, and Democrats want Latino votes.

 

Could be true, and I have just realised that the Pres has very little actual power, most of what he wants to do needs approval from congress, I think correct me if I'm wrong, but as a worlds statesman he is beginning to win me over but I still don't trust him completely maybe that is because he is a politician and really doesn't work for his wages.

Again, please demonstrate how i complained about the apprehension of the spies. I have no complaints at all about the FBI's fine work, but if i did have a complaint, it would be about the medias "over-coverage." really no big deal at all.

 

If it's no big deal, then there was no reason for you to make a sideways comment in relation to a discussion concerning the President in the first place. The administration caught a dozen Russian spies that had been engaging in espionage for a decade. It's not the President's fault that one of the spies happens to be somewhat attractive. Not even really that attractive, either. She looks like any chick that does Russian porn. I'll bet if we search, we'll find her doing some Russian porn earlier in her career.

 

There was a perfect reason to mention it. It qualified my assertion that the federal gov't does very-little-to-nothing to stop illegal immigration.

Russian spies have nothing to do with immigration. They did not sneak over the border from Mexico to pick fruit. The Russian spies had visas and traveled by normal means. You are taking a big win and something all Americans should be proud of our President for and making a sideways comment to somehow vilify the President's accomplishment and somehow mix it into a giant bowl of snark.
