I dont think Jeb is interested, Hillary has a shot,,if she can come up with the money, but I doubt that will happen, I think she ios still paying for the last one. I just seen a poll, all of the interested GOP candidates for 2012 are higher in the polls than Obama is today, even Sarah is higher than him.

Well what do you know President Obama came out swinging at conservative/Republicans in Congress today explaining how the GOP is blocking loans and assistance to small businesses as well as blocking an extension of unemployment benefits that has already effected another 2 million people after losing 8 million jobs in our economy.

Pretty hard hitting stuff actually for a president's weekly address and its my guess its only the beginning. President Obama will build on it during the week to get the unemployment benefits extended and then keep after it as the clock of fate ticks down to GOP's demise in November.

Here's the address if you want to watch it. But I bet you'll be hearing a lot about it one way or the other.

By the way this is one of the reasons I really like President Obama. He's a fighter when he has to be and he's good at it.

It is exactly what one will do when their back is to the wall. He is getting his socks knocked off in most of the polls and his parties dominance is at risk, the only thing he can do is to blame the other side.

While you may be right that he is a fighter, I seriously doubt that this will help him much in the polls.

 

President Obama obviously does not care about his poll numbers and that is another thing I admire about him. He's had the courage to make some pretty unpopular decisions guaranteeing he'd piss off just about everyone.

What president Obama cares about is solving the problems facing this nation and he's doing a better job of that than any president I've ever seen at a more critical and dangerous time.

 

Obama does have a popular issue with the extension of unemployment benefits.

I didn't say he and his people don't watch the polls. I'm sure they conduct their own. What I said is president Obama cares more about solving problems and moving the nation forward than he does about what effect those decisions have on his poll numbers.

His handling of the Gulf Blow out and his appointment of Thad Allen is an example of that. The popular thing to do that the time would have been to fire Allen. Instead he promoted him because he actually is the best man for the job.

I'll just stick this in here because another thing I like about President Obama is how he can work through a situation so much like this forum.

I just spent about half an hour watching GOP Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R., Ky.) make an absolutely impotent defense of the republicans in the senate, come right out and say they decided to make their stand on no new spending on unemployment benefits, hurting people first, and then just like here dodge every single pertinent issue.

This gets better all the time.
