Besides, NOLA doesn't count. The Dixie side of the state hates this side of the state. And the funny part of the South, most folks don't have an accent in the city. You get ten miles out, BOOM - it's Deliverance. And the few that have accents here have a different accent, which I'm cool with. The Creole accent is authentic, like Boston. The generic "Southern" accent is a mishmash homogenization of various authentic Southern regional accents manufactured and popularized by modern country music.

It's as if these people intentionally try and create their own group that distances them from the United States and makes them un-American.

See, Pee-Wee, it's not my fault. There's this woman, right? (There always is! :lol She's a friend of mine and we've been seeing each other casually. We're hardy at the stage of monogamy, or even anything coming to a relationship. And neither of us want that! But we have been intimate, and as a general rule (for health reasons), I don't sleep with two people at the same time (unless they're AT the same time!!! :lol.

Normally, in this situation, I would hang out with anyone I want. When I got to the good part with #2, I'd go for it and I would inform #1 we aren't at the good part anymore. And we're all adults, everything would be cool.

And recently #1 has been blowing me off. But she's been a friend of mine for awhile (even before I moved down to this part of LA) and while neither of us are looking for something particular out of anything, she's going through a rough time in other aspects of her life. So she has good reasons for blowing me off, and the rational side of my mind trusts her that she isn't blowing me off because of me, right? Plus, I'm super busy working long hours with my new job, so it really doesn't bother me that much. I'm happy she indulges my work schedule. But since she's my friend, and a pre-existing friend at that, I don't want to go scoping for #2 because she neither needs, nor deserves, rejection at this point of her life.

Of course, I'm fully within my rights to hang out with #2 and go out to dinner and hang out in cool places I don't know anything about because I haven't been native to this very cool region for a long time. But, there comes a point where after hanging out a couple times and blowing a few hundreds bucks on outtings - pardon my crass - I kinda expect to get my dick sucked, you know?

So I'm not ready to bounce to #2 quite yet and I don't want to spend the kinda money I wanna spend on fun without a physical recompense you know?

It is crazy fun on Bourbon St...blow off some steam and get a feel for the place and invite #1 for weekend....if she can't make it down sometime by football season look for #2.........

Word. But ATM I'm spending more time in Baton Rouge than NOLA anyways! We're planning a weekend in NOLA soon, though. So hopefully everything will work out. My mom emailed me a couple restaurants I had to promise her I would try for a couple specialty dishes that were ranked the best dishes in the world.
