However, there are very few fringe political groups that survive for long. The best thing for the Republicans is to get them (the Tea Party) to leave the fold and compete with Nader for votes. But I have a feeling that he Dems would do anything to prevent that.

 

You're right, he did have his liberal moments....like when he enacted wage and price controls.

No it wasn't, I was thinking more about the stuff that worked, you know opening trade with China, Equal Rights Amendment, revenue sharing, ending the draft, the 1974 agreements between Israel, Egypt and Syria and ending the war in Vietnam, you know the little shit.

 

And candidates like Harry Reid are just as busily copying and pasting their old websites into Campaign ads to show both how bat shit crazy and dishonest his opponent Sharon Angel is.

The same Angel that says if a woman is raped she should not be allowed to get an abortion because its all part of God's plan.

In the meantime Rand Paul has spent the last week denying he ever advocated anything as crazy as an underground boarder fence while his opponents run all the videos of him doing exactly that.

And I think sooner than later. One indication to me is they still have not managed to even define what they want. All they've done is complain hysterically about stuff they don't even know.

And don't forget when it came to expanding government Ronald Reagan was better than most liberals. The same would be true for increasing deficits. Reagan was all for that. Or maybe he was against deficits before he created them. You know how those conservative/Republicans are.

Or at least you and everyone else will if the democrats get their way. I've already seen some of the glaring contradictions starting to make it to the media.

I still literally laugh looking back on Nixon and Spiro Agnew claiming there was a silent majority out there somewhere so pay no attention to the hundreds of thousands of protesters in the streets. Just like claiming he and Nixon were victims of nattering nyebobs in the "liberal press" just before he was indicted for the bribes he later pleaded no contest to.
