But if they are such losers, who will listen to them. Surely you aren't suggesting that those who are adamantly against racism would be swayed by a bunch of losers, are you? And if they are such a minority, how will they destroy America.

Would you agree that the number of folks who are prone to believe in racist ideals have dwindled to a handful, considering out 300 million citizens?

 

Lets start with the ones who already have. Right wing extremists, militia groups, racist groups, and the many many nutcases who own guns in this country.

The racist will love the overt racism of the Tea Party. And the extreme right wing para military groups innovating for race wars and violent revolution will absolutely love them and what they say.

Well first of all by pointing out that anyone who tries to claim I said or believe the Tea Party will destroy America is lying. As I've said I believe the Tea Party will destroy the Republican party not America.

The only question then is how much trouble they can stir up and how much damage they can do before the entire Tea Party movement slips into oblivion.

That's my point. Just take steps to limit the actual and real damage the Tea Party can cause to race relations and constructive politics before they finally just fade away.

But because of the right wing noise machine and the overt racism displayed by Tea Party members those old wounds were ripped right back open. And have convinced many people again that race baiting and racist claims are perfectly acceptable.

After all just listen to Mark Wallace and his group of about half a million members alone. Look at how he tries to convince white Americans that all our black president is doing is taking money from white people and giving it to black people who are too lazy to work.

Lots and lots of people during hard economic times like these will readily jump on a black scape goat. Which sets our society back about 30 years.

 

Yes I do and have all my life. I was taught from the beginning of their potential lethal and destructive force which can never be forgotten. Which is why I would never take one out in public as some kind of prop or threat. People who have no more respect for guns than that in my opinion have no business owning them.

People like you tenguy who have constantly complained about entitlement programs. The people you talk about that are too lazy to work, or the people you claim don't deserve benefits, and the people who receive your tax dollars.

Those are the people who will have their resentment reinforced by Mark Williams. One segment blaming another segment for social problems and claiming one segment is taking something from the other.

Isn't that exactly how the Nazis did it. Demean the Jews, Claim the Jews were part of a conspiracy against them. Claim the social and economic problems were the Jews fault. And the Jews were taking from them.

I'm pretty sure everyone of those elements can be found in what Williams wrote and some will not only believe its just satire, they will also believe like we all do that much truth can be told through humor. Come to think of it I think that was another thing the Nazis used; cartoons and jokes and things like that as well as all their other propaganda.

None at all. The Tea Party is doing an amazing job taking steps against themselves.

And I think most the rest of us are doing everything we should do which is stand up against racism no matter where its at. And likewise oppose extremism no matter where it is.

And I never said they did. I said its been quite awhile since we've seen overt racism play out on the national state as it did with the ill defined Tea Party movement. In fact it was so unprecedented in our politically correct society that it instantly began to generate to opposite reactions.

Myself I was stunned and outraged and actually embarrassed for our whole country, not just the Tea Party. But many, many others I've seen (and seen on this forum as well) since they had resentments and prejudices in the first place they were reinforced that overt racism was back in style and have now raced to jump on the band wagon.

No, I do not for a second think his letter was a sign of any actual racism, it was very clearly satire. But as I have said before, it was in poor taste and it was a very unfunny attempt at humor. He should have been dropped for being so tactless and dim, racism having nothing to do with that. It was such a monumental mistake on his part, he had to know that even though it was satire, he was giving the left something to point to and say 'see, look how racist they are!" That kind of irrational person is dangerous to any cause and he should be let go.

He also writes some interesting stories, good reading. When I look at how well they are composed and how good the grammar is, I wonder if he writes them in calm moments.

Well here's another example that the Tea Party will not destroy America, and I could be wrong about the Republicans too. It looks more like the Tea Party is just going to self destruct instead because they are not ready for Prime Time Politics and make really really stupid decisions and choices.

The Tea Party staked a lot of their national coverage on firing Harry Reid for getting health care reform passed. The shipped in a lot of help including Sarah Palin and made a very big bold scene.

So how are they going to do that? By getting a Tea Party backed candidate through the Republican Primary and defeating Harry Reid in the General election.

Enter Tea Party candidate Sharron Angle. She begins with a huge advantage with Reid's approval rating somewhere down in the 30% range. Then all of a sudden people begin to she what Sharron Angle is all about. And calling to end Social Security, the department of education, and make abortion illegal for even victims of rape and incest.

Angle appears to be a radical loose cannon and help pours in to revamp her web site and message which was immediately contrasted with her old one to show how Angle is flip flopping on the issues.

Reid begins to gain on Angle then pass her. So how is Sharron Angle dealing with that. By literally running away from reporters at her own press conferences.

What a stupendous series of bad judgment followed worse judgement on the part of what ever calls its self the Tea Party.

Here's some more. The evening news cycle is flooded with the Cinderella story of Shirley Sherrod wearing the glass slipper and Andrew Breibart is the evil step-mother and continuing to play that part better than Mark Williams played the Grand Wizzard.

And no, you nor anyone else can claim this is the result of a "liberal press." This is a classic Cinderella Story in a nation starved for them and the story is selling itself and the right is providing all the reactions that is giving it legs.

By the time they get through with Breibart ACORN looks like an innocent victim. And the strings are solidly attached to both "a conservative activist" and once again the number of Tea Party events that have hosted Breibart.

By this morning's news cycle a new hero has appeared. Besides, Shirley Sherrod as Cinderella, we also now have the farmer Sherrod helped, Roger Spooner playing the part of the Jesus, pointing out the evilness of falsely accusing people, giving the example of him and Sherrod as shining examples of doing away with racism, and preaching peace, tranquility, brotherhood and the Golden Rule.

You can expect Spooner to get a lot of air time in the next day or so and probably a movie or something about it. Maybe a docudrama about it on TV this fall or something.

 

The Tea Party may destroy itself. The leaders have been lying to it's members all along. Even idiots will eventually realize that they have been had.

In the mean time, Palin, Limbaugh, Beck, Drudge, FOX, Breitbart, and many others have made millions and millions of dollars off the Tea Party.

Did you notice how rich the above have been getting by trying to rile everyone up? They are are probably the only financial profit takers from this recession!!!

 

Well at least Breithbart is being hammered to shit along with all his websites and his conservative and Tea Party ties and I don't think he's got the insulation to withstand it like those other fat cats.

In the meantime one of the things I've been doing is following the evolution of this story because it has all the issue, emotional, endearment elements that just makes it great press and can give it legs of its own.

So while the wicked stepmother Breithbart continues to bad mouth Cinderella, and Sherrod and the farmer Spooner have been reunited and spreading the message of peace, love, brotherhood, between all people, its also picked up another endearing political angel.
