Do it, we can then talk about Rangle, Waters and host of other highly ethical Democrats in the past few years.

Both parties have their share of not so ethical members, most of whom will never get caught.

So rather than do that, why don't we talk about how to rid the political system of the loopholes that promote and allow it.

Your smear campaign is anothers truthful discussion.

But the real issue is whether the "tea party" will destroy America or will it make it stronger by highlighting the problems within it and discussing some of the problems that are really concerning the average citizen.

It's not a truthful discussion when it's factually deficient. What's great about this phrase when it's in reference to ACORN is that ACORN was found innocent - a fact you seem to have overlooked. Why do you think I used that example specifically, tenguy?

Because taxes, being at their lowest point in history, are too high?

Because they want to prevent religious freedom by preventing a mosque from being built two blocks from ground zero?

Because our president is a kenyan, marxist, fascist, muslim antichrist?

Or maybe it's because when people like me highlight a problem in the US, I'm unpatriotic and denying American exceptionalism, while they're patriotic and "true Americans"?

I don't know how old your friends are but I'm too old to be disappointed when a president turns out to be less than I expected or even far less than he promised.

And what really got past me with Barack Obama is that he actually turned out to be as moderate to conservative as he said he'd be during the campaign. That's what I thought he was saying just to get elected. And then once he did push a real liberal agenda.

Hell, in a lot of ways he's as bad or worse than Bush about some things.

But this is not really about President Obama, his race, his agenda, or even the Democrats or the Republicans.

What we've got going here is an age old struggle between conservatives and liberals, when once again conservatism as it is preached and practiced in this nation has proven once again to be nothing more than a very expensive lie.

So the power has rightfully shifted to the liberals with neither the Democrats nor the Republicans used to them being in position of power. And that is the American political paradox where actually conservatives are always in a minority because they are in fact and in deed the party of the rich and powerful special interests, but through false rhetoric, emotional appeals, divisiveness, and scare tactics they can convince people to vote against their own best interests.

And they are usually successful at that because they have millionares sitting behind microphones telling working people that because of the liberals the blacks and the hispanics are taking your jobs, taking your precious tax dollars, and taking your country away from you. And that's because we have a liberal black president. But those are just really handy points of attacks at this point.

Back when Jimmy Carter was president he was Peanut Farmer President wo was letting Iran run all over us, who was allowing the Arabs to push us around, while all the time also giving the blacks and other minorities preferential treatment, and taking your job away, and your rights away, and turning us into a nation of wimps.

The terminology changes to meet the circumstance but for all my life its always been the same false propaganda based on emotional responses and illogical, irrational, and often even impossible arguments.

 

Rush Limbaugh was saying yesterday that it was Obama's Birthday "but of course we have no proof of that."

And I hope you noticed what the defeated representative said when he was confronted with the false issues raised by the far right and said he could not do what they wanted him to do because "it would violate the command against bearing false witness against his neighbors."

It seemed an odd way to put that to me but it drives straight at the heart of supposedly religious faithful conservative/Republican/Tea Baggers.
