I also got weary of reading comments like "that's a fine way for a moderator to behave" every time my forum-farts smelt of anything other than petunias. I've never understood why regular members expect you to behave as if you've been touched by the hand of God, when really you're just an unpaid lackey with a few more buttons on the monitor.

Your view of Christianity is stereotyped. You seem to assume that every Christian clergyman is either a pedophile Catholic priest, or a fire breathing Fundamentalist preacher who always gives sermons about the horrors of hell, especially for homosexuals.

What is clear is that you need to hate. You have chosen Christianity. You resemble an anti Semite for whom Jews are always dishonest businessmen, or a race bigot for whom blacks are always violent street criminals.

Oh no! He has the joy of going round moving threads! Oh the power! The light! It burns! I cant handle this sudden elevation. Hell, I cant even SEE Shake because he's so high above us! We should all bow to him! Shrines and statues! Virgins! OoooOooooh! sacrifices!

...... because moving threads and banning spammers makes him more worthy than the rest of us.

Try going on another forum and see if you have as much freedom on there as you all enjoy here. You'd hate it and come crawling back on your bellies.

Hey Shake, how are things? Thought I'd pop in here with my two cents on your "professionalism", as a moderator in this place I would think that addressing issues with an unbiased mind would be pretty damned difficult for you to do.

And it might be difficult for you, but you've done a pretty damn good job thus far. For one thing you are certainly visible, for another I've never seen you shy away from a discussion.

You and I might be miles apart on the values of religious faith, but we are in lockstep on the rights of other to choose their poison.

 

If you don't like the appointment of the two new mods take your complaints to the admins, otherwise shut the fuck up and let us get on with our daily fun fest.

As I said earlier I think both will do a good job, the only bone of contention you detractors can comment on is the shake vs deidre situation, well leave them to get on with it and watch from the sidelines things will not change.
Deidre will continue to show her dislike of Shake and Shake will continue to show his dislike of Deidre, the big difference is that Deidre seems to have the capacity to hate a lot more people at the same time, I am happy to be one of them.
as for the argument over Shakes Sig. Deidre was stupid enough to post those offensive remarks in an open forum and deserves to be reminded how much of a nasty bitch she can be.

I know he doesn't see himself as a janitor....so it must be for the perks.....

which seem, for him, to be......aggravating certain people....and finding out which socks belong to whom.

I think it's God's idea of a joke.

 

I feel that anyone elevated to the status of moderator now becomes a representative of both the site and the administrators and should set a positive example and refrain from confrontational posts and petty bickering with other members. Someone named to the position of moderator should now be above the fray and NOT be the cause of it. I, for one, do NOT think a moderator should have anything in their sig other than MODERATOR. With that status, what else would they need? My hope is seeing the new moderators start acting like moderators.

 

If you expect ShakeZula to clean up his act, you will be disappointed. My only hope is that he does not use his power to ban posters like deidre79 and me, whom he dislikes.

There SHOULD be no fear of this happening. When using a forum like this, moderators should be in the background to us and not trying to block us from enjoying the interaction.

 

If he did, I would be among the first to protest. But he won't. Would you ban HIM, if you were in a similar position? I believe I've heard you say that from time to time...

Well, that's just the thing. Any bias I might have towards any particular poster doesn't matter for job as mod since individual behavior is outside of our purview unless one breaks the aforementioned rules. There are no issues that I will be required to pass judgement on where any bias I have will come in to play. Every case where I need to make a mod decision is strictly binary.
